What I Wore: Wedding

April 30, 2012

This month marked our 4 year wedding anniversary! I shared with you the little DIY gift I made for my hubby but I thought that I would also take you back to our special day on April 12, 2008 when I married the man of my dreams! I was inspired to post some of our wedding pictures by Absolute Mommy who is celebrating her 7 year anniversary today (congrats!) and is welcoming fellow bloggers and friends to share their wedding in her first solo link party WIW: Wedding.

Hubs and I met through an online dating service (yes, they really do work!) and had our first blind date on August 25th, 2005. Fast forward two years to June 15th, 2007 when he took me to the docks on Lake Union, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. 10 months later on April 12th, 2008, we became husband and wife!

Thanks to a lot of help from my parents, we were able to have the wedding of my dreams. It took place at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle, WA. We planned an indoor wedding because in Seattle you have to expect rain. But to our surprise, it was a gorgeous day that reached a high of 80+ degrees! That is unheard of for an April in Seattle. Everything about the day was perfect. Sure we may have stumbled over our well rehearsed and choreographed first dance, and yes, my brother-in-law gave the most embarrassing best man speech, but the flowers were amazing, the venue was gorgeous, the cake was a work of art, my dress was stunning and we were surrounded by all of our close friends and family from near and far.

Dress: Off the rack from La Belle Elaines Bridal in Seattle, WA. Found it on my first wedding dress shopping trip with my mom. When I tried it on I knew it was the one! I especially fell in love with all the beautiful beading on the front and back.
Shoes: Boutique store in Kirkland, WA that has since closed. It took me awhile to find these because I didn’t want anything less than 4 inch heels. So funny how times have changed. I don’t wear anything but flats now!
Hair and Make-up: Tiara’s On Location

Bridesmaid dresses: Brides by Demetrios
Flowers and Decor: Rented Elegance, Bellevue WA.

I LOVED my cake! I was very specific about what I wanted and the baker/decorator at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel made all my cake dreams come true! I think I need to pin this!

I had a lot of fun putting together this post. I love looking back at our wedding pictures and remembering all the details of the day. I even took out our wedding video and watched the highlights! It makes me tear up every time.
Oh and here is one more picture…from my bachelorette party at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas! Any way I can reverse time and get my body back?!

Yay, another online dating success story! I couldn't believe how thin I was on my wedding day. I remember my exact weight. Make me motivated to lose this baby weight once and for all!

If only I could get my pre-wedding day body back but I fear my four kids have run away with it. Thank you for sharing your absolutely beautiful day.

I just found your site and started poking around and I'm struck by our similar dating stories! My husband and I met online, went on our first date in August of 2005, got engaged in May of 2007, and got married in September of 2008! Yay for online success stories 🙂 It looks like you sure did have a beautiful day!

Hello. It is simple to become familiar with the ladies; all you need to do is demonstrate your wits. Consider this: what do they enjoy? They like receiving accolades and presents. That concludes the answer to the query. You will meet females on the hookup site for married with whom you may spend time. The quality of this dating site will pleasantly surprise you.

It makes sense. But what to do when you have nobody to care about you? I guess it is not that easy, right? I know I am telling the right thing. I have big experience in marketing, but in love I am alone and single and lonely.

Are you a man or a woman? No wonder you can’t find anybody. You are so avatarless unisex creature that nobody wants to desypher. And your English is bad. You need to change your attitude. And also you need to hook up with locals to improve your language, dating and communication skills. My friend came to L.A. from Mexico last year and now he is already married to a beautiful American girl!

Oliver Lewis was an American jockey during the nineteenth century. He won the first Kentucky Derby on May 17, 1875, aboard Aristides. Lewis and Aristides won by two lengths and set a new American record for a mile and a half race. Oliver Lewis was also the first jockey to win the Kentucky Derby with three different horses. Here are five facts about Lewis that you may not know. This is not a complete list of Lewis’ accomplishments.

Wow, dope article! What do you think about online dating? For example, I just read an article about VictoriyaClub https://wisedate.net/victoriyaclub-review/ but I’m also considering other options. Any ideas?

I haven’t thought about marriage. Maybe someday I’ll want a family, a wedding, and a serious relationship. Right now, though, I’m happy living alone, focusing only on myself and my life, and when I want to have some fun, I can find someone for a one-night hookup. So, online hookup dating sites are more than enough to satisfy that. By the way, do you use dating sites, and if so, how often do they work out successfully? I’ve been lucky so far with the people I’ve met .

Sarah’s post on Repeat Crafter Me about her wedding day is a lovely blend of elegance and sincerity. Her vintage-inspired dress, the classic black and white color theme, and that gorgeous Seattle venue create a timeless aesthetic. But what really stands out is her openness—sharing not just the picture-perfect elements, but also the little quirks and real-life moments, like the best man’s awkward speech and a few dance floor missteps. It’s refreshing to read a wedding story that doesn’t try to be flawless, but rather feels real and personal. On the lighter side of love and relationships, there’s MatchMemes.com—a completely different, but equally charming, celebration of connection. While Sarah tells her love story through lace and bouquets, MatchMemes https://matchmemes.com/ tells it through relatable humor and memes. It’s a place where you can laugh at the ups and downs of dating and maybe even find someone who shares your sense of humor. Together, both sites show the full spectrum of modern love—from heartfelt moments to hilarious ones.
