If you are as obsessed with the 2014 FIFA World Cup as my boys are, then I’m sure this soccer ball breakfast will be on your menu tomorrow morning 🙂 We were sad to see the USA lose on Tuesday but my futbol fanatics are still watching every other game. I decided to get crafty in the kitchen this morning and made soccer ball pancakes and a soccer ball english muffin. Very simple to throw together and you are sure to get some big smiles from your soccer fans.
Lets start with the soccer ball pancakes. I used a box mix (the just-add-water kind) and let them sit on the griddle until that had a slightly crispy outside.
I printed out clip art of a soccer ball (like THIS one) and traced/cut the shapes with the tip of a sharp knife. Just cut through the outside layer and peel away shape.
Fill cut outs with maple syrup and eat!
The english muffin is even easier (and healthier!). Toast an english muffin and spread on a laughing cow cheese wedge or some cream cheese. Use raisins to make you hexagons. Draw lines connecting your hexagons with a knife or toothpick.
This would be a fun breakfast to make before your kids weekend soccer games as well. Enjoy!
