Chick and Bunny Candy Filled Easter Eggs

I was inspired last week by two really neat Easter candy ideas. The first were these adorable M&M Chicks by Simply Sweet Stuff and the second were these amazing White Chocolate Candy Filled Easter Chicks by the talented Hungry Happenings. So here I am making my own version: Chicks and Bunnies made from plastic easter eggs and filled with candy!

These were very simple to make and the supplies are cheap. I am sure you can find everything you need at the Dollar store.

Materials:

– Yellow and pink plastic Easter eggs

– Yellow and pink pipe cleaners

– Goggly eyes

– Craft foam (found at Dollar store or any craft store)

– Small white pom poms (or color of your choice) for bunny tail

– My “chick and bunny feet” printable (if you need it!) You can download it HERE

– Hot glue gun

– Small candies (I used jelly beans)

You will want to start by printing out the chick and bunny feet printable and using it as a template to cut the feet out from your craft foam. Use a small corner of foam to make your chick and bunny noses as well.

Then bend your pipe cleaners into bunny ears and little chickadee wings. Trim extra pipe cleaner. Heat up the hot glue gun and glue everything into place! Make sure you glue the egg onto the feet so the smaller part of the egg is at the feet and the wider part of the egg is the face. Use the little notch at the end of the egg as a marker for where the nose should be glued on.

Now you can open your egg and fill it with small candies (fill about half way full). The candy will help weigh down the bottom of the egg if it seems a little tipsy 🙂
