Crochet Seattle Seahawks Hat
I know it’s baseball season, but I already have football on my mind! I had a request for a Seahawks hat a couple months ago and finally had some time this weekend to make it. I followed Alli Crafts 9-12 Earflap FREE hat pattern. The color pattern is as follows: Rows 1-4: blue, Row 5: gray, Row 6-8: green, Row 9: gray, Row 10-12: Blue.

Crochet Corner to Corner (C2C) Baby Sheep Graphgan
I successfully finished my first Corner to Corner (C2C) Graphgan! The C2C works up much quicker than the pixel square blanket and the bobble stitch blanket so it’s a great option for those of you who want to give pixel crochet a try. In this post I am going to give you the basics about creating a C2C blanket. There is no specific pattern to follow, you create these afghans by following a pixel graph, working from the bottom right hand corner, row by row, until you get the top left hand corner!
I didn’t plan this out but I love a happy accident! This C2C graphgan fits perfectly on a twin size bed!

Football Team Wreath
The preseason has already started and we are anxiously awaiting for the first Seahawks football game! No matter what team you root for, you can make this Football Team Wreath in no time at all and show your neighbors your team pride! Most of the craft stores carry local team fabric prints. I live in Oregon and there was an abundance of Seahawks, Ducks, and Beavers fabrics available at JoAnn’s.
Materials:
– 12 inch styrofoam wreath
– Fabric in team colors and prints. I purchase a yard of each color but you need much less. Try and find a remnant and save money!
– Football Wood Cutout (found at JoAnn’s or you can purchase through Amazon link below)
-ArtMinds Varsity Wood Letter Pack (found at Michaels). Letters are about 1-2 inches in height/width.
– Glue gun
Boring to Bold Boys Sports Themed Bedroom
First lets talk about the before… Large, bare walls. No storage. Mis-matched everything. Messy. This room needed major help. Fortunately it had plenty of space and potential!
The most important thing was storage, storage and more storage! Now that baby sister is mobile and getting into everything, we needed to get their room set up with lots of cabinets, cubbies and shelves to house their toys, games and other items we didn’t want the baby touching.
I first dreamed of built-ins to surround the window (THIS was my inspiration). Well, it turns out that built-ins like that cost over $3,000 🙁 Ikea to the rescue! I purchased the STUVA Storage system which fit EXACTLY into the space. Not a millimeter to spare. I liked that the cabinets and drawers had doors so you could throw toys in for easy clean up. Plus it had the perfect little desk area for the boys to sit at and color, do a workbook, or homework.
The wall-mounted book shelves are also from Pottery Barn Kids and hold a lot of their favorite books as well as little brothers favorite doll – Richard Sherman, Seattle Seahawks Cornerback!
The Bean Bag Soccer Ball and Football were both purchased from Amazon and the coolest, most fun part of the whole room is the Ikea EKKORE Hanging Seat! The boys are very excited about their new reading area. We have a rule at bedtime: If you aren’t tired, then you can pick out a book and read quietly.
I think the key to designing any room is to take your time. I’ve been collecting little sports-themed items for a couple years. My Aunt found these awesome vintage football player bookends at an antique shop.
Grandma gifted the boys this beautiful sports-themed bedding years ago and not only has it held up nicely, but it is what I based the whole color scheme around. The loft bed is from Ashley Furniture Outlet (now closed). Here is what we love about the bed: the built-in drawers, stairs instead of a ladder, and a low top bunk (for safety and for easy reach to tuck in my child and to make the bed). What we don’t love is that the wood is pretty cheap (particle board) and the lower bed has to be completely pulled out to sleep on. But that does make for a fun fort area!
Lastly, old sports equipment like these lacrosse sticks made perfect artwork for empty wall space!

Football Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches
Tomorrow is GAME DAY! And I am over-the-moon excited that our Seattle Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl this year!! If you live in Seattle you know how loud and proud our 12th man is right now. The city is just crazy about our football team! I whipped up a special game day treat for my boys and the best part is that I can eat it too! Yes, these Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches are Weight Watchers friendly. So go ahead and eat them, guilt free!
You will need a box of Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches, sprinkles (in your team colors!), white icing (in a tube), and about a 3″ circle cookie cutter.
This package of Betty Crocker nonpareil sprinkles was perfect because it had Seahawks blue and green and also Broncos orange (yes, I made ONE Bronco colored treat).
Crocheted Sports Team Beanies
– Always join your rounds to the first DC, NOT the chain.
– Your last stitch should be in the stitch before your chain.
– Do NOT count the chain 2 as a stitch.

WHERE TO CHANGE COLOR: You will want to leave 2 rows of the main color on the bottom. So whichever size you are working on, count up from the bottom before you start and make sure you know where to begin your color change. You should have 5 rows of different color: 3 rows of one color where the logo will go and an accent color that will be on either side of the middle stripe.
Sometimes on the smaller hats I like to do a row of SC with my accent color like the green stripes in the hat pictured. Just make sure that if you want to switch a row from DC to SC that you will need to add on one additional row of SC (2 rows of SC = 1 row of DC).
Round 5: 2 DC in first, DC in next 10, repeat around, join, chain 2 (48 DC)

Now lets talk about the logo. I purchased the Seahawks Iron-on logo from Amazon. I know you can find many other teams iron-on logos on Amazon as well. I cut a piece of felt a little larger than the logo and sewed it on to the hat with a tapestry needle. Then I hot-glued the iron-on to the top of the felt. Obviously you should probably avoid washing the hat in a washing machine. I would recommend hand washing only, or not washing it at all.
If you can’t find an iron-on, you can also cut your teams logo out of felt and sew it on with a tapestry needle. Print out your teams logo from Google Images and use it as a template first. This is what I did with this Washington Huskies Beanie:
Crocheted Football Helmets
With Superbowl XLVI on Sunday, it’s all about football this week! I decided to try a new (and FREE!) pattern I found over at Breezybot for crocheted football helmets. It’s a very simple pattern to follow, but there were a lot of loose ends to weave in which was time consuming. But how cute would these be for babies first football game!? Oh, and sorry to all those Patriot and Giants fans, I only like to crochet in my teams colors. The Seattle Seahawks and Washington Huskies :o)
I also had to share this pic of my son in his football beanie again :o)
I hope everyone is still holding tight while I work on getting my Etsy shop open. I am working on hats to sell and a lot of the crochet I post will be for sale as well. Im aiming for the end of March!
