Friends and fellow crocheters, I have been working on this project for over 6 months and even though I’m still not done with it, I wanted to start sharing it with you! I couldn’t keep it a secret any longer!
I am creating a Crochet Animal Alphabet Afghan which will include all 26 of these animal appliqués. I am about halfway done with the blanket and I just finished all of the appliqués so I thought I would go ahead and share with you the individual patterns one-by-one over the next 26 days in a series I will call “26 Days of Animal Alphabet Appliqués.” Hopefully by the end of the month I will be close to finishing the entire afghan and will be able to share it with you at that time!

I've only recently found your blog and am having a wonderful time "catching up" to all you do! These appliques are precious! Thank you so much for sharing all you do 🙂
🙂 Wonderful, I can't wait for them…
Looks fab where can I get the pattern
Gill
I can't wait to see how you are affixing these to the blanket! I have a niece who is 18 months, and I think this would be a great Christmas gift for her this year. Thank you so much for sharing!
Wow! I can't wait to see the end result! Seeing a new applique every day will be fun 🙂 .
I look forward to the tutorials! Thank you for sharing this!
My new granddaughter will love this when I finish! Thank You.
Oh you've outdone yourself this time!
This is just fabulous… so many things you can do with them! Thanx Sarah, I posted this on my fb page and offered to help translate to spanish if they had any trouble I wish you great success… this will be a hit!
… by the way, loved your comments on being a mom and having time to crochet because you just make the time… I loved that, that's totally me! LOL
Thnx again, many blessings!
Again, you are so talented. Thanks so much for all you share with us:)
You are the best! I've been wanting to make an animal applique afghan and this will be perfect for my baby girl. She just turned one a few days after your baby and I'll admit it's been fun stalking your blog and watching your baby grown like mine has. You always manage to post the perfect pattern for what I've been wanting to make for her. Thanks for sharing your amazing talents!
Sooo excited! It will be hard to wait 26 days!!
Great great idea. Just placed it on my to-do;-)
Maravilhosos!!!!!Amo seus trabalhos!!!!!Beijos Rê
Could you tell me what the dimensions of the largest applique are?
So cute! But I have an aversion to unicorns, they give me the willies! Need to come up with a Utah Prarie Dog, because there are not many animals that start with "u" I Googled it.
Wow! Fantastic Fun. Very exciting. Great Animals. Eagerly waiting to begin this very creative adventure. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
This will be fun to make. Fantastic idea. The next 26 days I won't forget to read your blog.

I've just recently discovered your blog and having a great time catching up on your patterns. The blanket and applique animals looks great. I think I will try the applique animals first since I have so much leftover yarn. Thanks so much for the beautiful patterns you create.
Wonderful work!!! I love the appliques!! Just a tip, the Z for zebra leads to the wonderful zebra hat not the applique, thank you for your great tutorials

Can't wait to see how to make the letters! So excited!
Love this pattern. How about the letters, is there directions for the letters also?
Great job! Thanks for sharing! I think your "z" links to a zebra hat and not to the zebra applique.
I think your Z linked here is to the wrong page. It's linked to your Zebra hat, not the Zebra applique. 🙂
Now I know I will make for my grandchild thankyou soooo much
What wonderful patterns and how generous of you to share them for free.
I will be making one for my grandson….what a lovely way to learn the alphabet
I'm making these and the letters to go on a banner for my daughter's kindergarten teacher 🙂 I've been trying to figure out a thank you gift for her for months!
Thank you so much for this wonderful share.
I came here expecting to get one great pattern (your giraffe) and found a whole collection of cute animal appliques. My nephew should have loads of fun playing with them!

Beautiful! Hope I can catch up.
Where have I been that I have not seen these until now? They are precious! My mind is going 100 mph, thinking of all the ways I can use these in baby gifts, gifts for big brother/sister, etc. Fun, fun, fun!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for making them available ~ you have put a LOT of work into these appliques.
Were you able to post any video tutorials? Thanks!

These are so very cute. You did a great job. Thanks for sharing them. I am going to use some of them on a baby blanket for my great grand child due in April 2018.
Love the Applique Alpha. Thank you for all of your fabulous creations, and your kind generosity in sharing with us. 🙂
I love this. Hope I can get the pattern
These are so cute! I love them! I’m trying to make an alphabet blanket to fit my son’s twin sized bed. I want to use all granny squares for the animals and letters. I was hoping someone who’s finished this blanket might know what size granny squares I would need to use for all of the appliqués to fit? I would really appreciate the help.
I’ve made the lamb and the elephant, thank you so much for sharing such cuties!

Have you done this blanket?

Have you ever turned all these appliqués into an actual blanket? I’d love to see the photo of you have. I’m guessing a granny square blanket with one on each square would look nice.
I LOVE making small appliques and handing them out to people to make smiles… I put a paperclip on them so they can wear them…
Thanks so much for refueling my arsenol!!!
I’m doing hearts right now for Valentines day!!
For those looking for the actual blanket pattern, I found it. https://www.repeatcrafterme.com/2015/03/crochet-animal-alphabet-afghan.html
