Crochet Christmas Tree Applique

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree! This crochet Christmas Tree Applique is so quick to make you could have a whole forest in just an hour 🙂 Perfect on a hat, potholder, blanket or more. Embellish with buttons, pom-poms, or stitch on some yarn ornaments.

Materials:
– Size F Crochet Hook
– Worsted Weight Yarn in Green and Brown
– Extra yarn for ornaments or tiny Pom-poms, or buttons.
– Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
SC = Single Crochet
SC Decrease = Single Crochet Decrease

Tree Pattern:
With green yarn…
Chain 11, SC in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down chain, chain 1, turn (10 SC)
Row 2: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (10 SC)
Row 3: SC Decrease, SC in next 6, SC Decrease, chain 1, turn (8 SC)
Row 4: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (8 SC)
Row 5: SC Decrease, SC in next 4, SC Decrease, chain 1, turn (6 SC)
Row 6: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (6 SC)
Row 7: SC Decrease, SC in next 2, SC Decrease, chain 1, turn (4 SC)
Row 8: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (4 SC)
Row 9: SC Decrease twice, chain 1, turn (2 SC)
Row 10: make 2 SC, chain 1, turn (2 SC)
Row 11: SC Decrease, and continue to SC around all three edges.
fasten off and weave in ends.

Starting 4 stitches in from the bottom, attach brown yarn.
Make 4 SC, chain 1, turn
Row 2-3: SC in each stitch across (4 SC)
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Glue on pom-poms and star button. Or stitch on yarn embellishments.

  3. 1/9/2017 I am starting on Christmas ornaments for this 2017 Christmas! I love making them for the grandkids, nieces, nephews, etc. every year. I make one for each child and one for the family. That way, the kids have ornaments for their own trees in the future!! Fun for all! I love this ornament and will start right away. Thank you so very much!!
