If you’re new to Corner-to-Corner (C2C) crochet, it’s a fun and highly addictive technique that turns pixel-style graphs into beautiful textured crochet pieces. You’ll start in one corner of the design (typically the lower right) and work diagonally in rows toward the opposite corner. Each pixel square represents one block made up of a chain 2 + 3 half double crochets (HDC). I prefer using HDC instead of double crochet for a slightly tighter, neater stitch—perfect for dishcloths and home decor. C2C is a great way to bring character designs, icons, and seasonal motifs to life!

I’m thrilled to be part of the 2025 Dishcloth of the Month Crochet-Along (CAL) hosted by Rhondda from Oombawka Design Crochet and Amy from The Stitchin’ Mommy! Each month, three designers share brand-new dishcloth patterns for you to enjoy and collect throughout the year.
You can find all the details about the CAL here: Dishcloth of the Month Crochet-Along

How to Crochet the Gingerbread Dishcloth:
I suggest starting by watching my C2C Crochet Tutorial on YouTube. It walks you through every stitch, from reading a graph to changing colors: Watch the C2C Crochet Tutorial HERE
Once you’re ready to begin, follow either the pixel graph, the written pattern, or the color block chart below to complete your dishcloth square.

Once you’re ready to begin, follow either the pixel graph, the written pattern, or the color block chart below to complete your dishcloth square.
- Start in lower right hand corner:
Begin with your background color.
Chain 5, then work 1 half double crochet (HDC) in the 3rd chain from the hook and 1 HDC in each of the next 2 chains.
You’ll now have a small square — this counts as your first pixel block!
(Each pixel block = chain 2 + 3 HDC stitches.) - Build your square diagonally:
Chain 5 again and continue working blocks diagonally, following your pixel graph or written color pattern row by row.
Each new row increases the number of pixel blocks until you reach the widest point, then you’ll start decreasing rows to form the square. - Change colors as you go:
When you reach a pixel square that requires a new color (like the gingerbread man’s buttons, eyes, or smile), simply switch yarns when joining to the next block. - Finishing your dishcloth:
Once your C2C section is complete, do not fasten off your yarn yet.
Work a round of single crochet (SC) evenly around all four edges to clean up the border.
When you reach an upper corner, chain 20, slip stitch back down the chain, and then slip stitch into the same corner — this creates the handy hanging loop for your kitchen knob or hook. - Final touch — weaving in ends:
As you weave in your yarn tails, use this step to tidy up any spots where the blocks don’t perfectly connect.
For example, if part of the white smile looks slightly separated, use the loose end of your cream yarn to stitch the corners together for a polished finish.

Rainy arvo in Hobart, perfect for staying in with a cuppa and a spin. Wanted something new and rewarding. Found Level Up Casino , proper clever Aussie setup. Every game contributes to your level, even table games, and rewards drop like confetti. Yggdrasil pokies look unreal, and the daily tournaments are short and sweet. Leveled up four times tonight, walked away $350 up. Coziest rainy day in ages.
Reading about this knitted gingerbread towel C2C, I caught myself thinking again that such small, cosy things can really lift your spirits as if the kitchen immediately becomes warmer and that pre-Christmas feeling appears. I recently had a similar feeling when I stopped by https://tameraat.com.pk/ to ‘switch gears’ after my routine. I wasn’t expecting anything, but ended up with such an unexpected win that my smile was no less than that from a finished holiday decoration. It’s funny how sometimes everyday trifles and random decisions have the most striking effect.
very good, thank you
