I immediately fell in love with the floral prints, and because the yarn already looks like a dainty fabric ribbon, it practically begged to become a cute Fab Flower Keychain. Using a large 12mm (P) hook, this little project works up in literal minutes. It’s thick, bold, tactile, and so much fun—perfect for backpack charms, stocking stuffers, teacher gifts, or in my case… a whole bundle for Zoe’s friend group!
The keychain works up in simple puff-stitch petals, and the plush tube yarn makes them look full and dimensional with almost no effort. You’ll only need a small amount of yarn (a single ball makes many flowers!) and a keyring of your choice. The best part? The tubular construction of Bernat Fab! means your stitches stay crisp without any fraying edges or twisting fabric.
Below is how to make your own. Trust me, once you’ve made one, you’ll immediately want to make more!
Materials:
– Bernat Fab! Yarn. You can make 4 full flowers per skein. If your flowers come out slightly lighter (some will!), you might squeeze out a 5th, but 4 is the guaranteed number from one ball of Bernat Fab!

Puff Stitch: Yarn over, insert your hook into the same stitch as the chain 3, yarn over and pull up a loop to the height of the chain 3. Repeat this yarn-over, insert hook, and pull-up process a total of 3 times (you will have 7 loops on your hook). Yarn over and pull through all 7 loops to complete the puff stitch.
Fab Flower Pattern:
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 6 SC in ring, join to first SC and chain 3.
Round 2: In the same stitch as the chain 3 make a puff stitch (as written above) chain 3 again and slip stitch back down to same stitch, slip stitch over next stitch and make a chain 3 + puff stitch + chain 3 all in one stitch, do this two more times so you have a total of 4 petals. at this point you will notice you are running out of room in your round, so SKIP a stitch and make one more puff stitch petal in the last stitch.
Finishing:
Fasten off and leave a long tail. Pull the tail through the last stitch of the flower to form a loop. Tie the tail securely on the back of the flower using both loose ends.
With this loop, attach the flower to your keyring by feeding the loop through the ring, then pulling the flower through the loop to tighten. This creates a secure, no-hardware-needed attachment.
