This project had been sitting in the back of my mind for awhile. I had the wire, I had the cork board, but I couldn’t decide what to use for the base of the tree. Little did I know it was right in front of my face the whole time. I opened up my bead box the other day and there it was, my ceramic bead tray! (sold as Ceramic Paint Palette 
I wish I could lead you through a step-by-step process on how this jewelry tree was made, but honestly I just started cutting wire and wrapping it around each other until it began to take the shape of a tree. I used needle-nosed pliers to curl the ends of the “tree branches” in spirals.
I cut the bottom wire ends short and stuck them through one of the pieces of cork. I folded the wire in to secure it and then used my glue gun to glue the second piece of cork over the bottom. I then hot glued it to the middle of the bead tray. Ideally I would have liked to have a thicker piece of cork, but I happened to have these thinner cork circles that I cut down to size.
The bottom tray is perfect for rings and studs, the taller branches for necklaces and the shorter branches for bracelets and dangly earrings.
Usually the pictures I post on my blog look better than the actual product, but for some reason I couldn’t capture how nice this jewelry tree turned out. It looks fuller and more symmetrical in person. I love that I can see all my jewelry and finally feel like I can accessorize. I can’t remember the last time I wore anything but my wedding ring. That needs to change!
