Two years ago I had the pleasure of creating this Polar Bear C2C Blanket for Simply Crochet Magazine! It was published in Issue 50 which you can read about HERE. Luckily I am now able to also share the pattern right here on my blog for free! YAY!! It’s the perfect project to hook up for Christmas or the winter season.

Materials:
– Bernat Super Value Yarn (I originally used Special Aran yarn sent to me by Simply Crochet. I believe it is only available in the UK). Bernat Super Value would be a great replacement. I would go with colors Cool Blue or Aqua (2 skeins), White (2 skeins), Berry Red, with a bit of gray (or clay) and black. Shop the colors at Yarnspirations.com! 
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle
– Polar Bear Pixel Graph

I used the corner-to-corner crochet method to make this blanket.

First you will want to download the Polar Bear Pixel Graph. You can do that HERE. When you are done, it will be reversible! The same image will appear on either side (the polar bear will just be facing the other direction). If you aren’t familiar with the C2C technique, I have a video class available HERE for purchase that teaches you this technique! The CrochetCrowd also has a very helpful video tutorial for FREE that shows you the basic technique of corner-to-corner crochet. Check that out HERE.

When you are finished crocheting the graph using C2C crochet, you can add a snowflake border!

Polar Bear C2C Blanket Border

Round 1: With white yarn, SC to join between any of the squares on the edge. Chain 2 and SC in the next space between squares. Repeat around all edges making a SC + Chain 2 + SC in the corners.

Round 2: Slip stitch + Chain 4 + Slip stitch in the first chain 2 space, chain 4 and skip next chain space, slip stitch + chain 4 + slip stitch in the next chain space, repeat around making a SC + chain 2 + SC in the corners.

Round 3: [slip stitch, SC, chain 2+ slip stitch in second chain from hook, SC, chain 3 + slip stitch in second chain from hook and last chain, SC, chain 2 + slip stitch in second from hook, SC, slip stitch all in one chain 4 hump], make 3 SC in next chain 4 space, repeat from * in next chain 4 hump, repeat around making a SC + Chain 2 + SC in the corners. Join, fasten off and weave in ends.

A few weeks ago I got a fun e-mail in my inbox from Yarnspirations featuring their new Foodie Baby Lookbook. I was so excited to see all the adorable food-inspired crochet patterns! If I had more time I would crochet all of them but the one I really loved was the How About The Apples Blanket! It a fun corner-to-corner design with red apples with one apple that has been eaten down to the core.

As I was about to get this project on my hook, I just happen scrolled through the Five A Day Knit Cardigan and noticed the pattern included 3 SUPER CUTE pixel graphs: An Avocado, Watermelon Slice, and Apple. I couldn’t resist the watermelon graph and decided to make a blanket (similar to How Bout The Apples) but with watermelon slices!

I love the way these watermelon slices look when crocheted corner-to-corner! I originally crocheted the seeds as well (chain 4, slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook, SC in next, HDC + SC in last) but then I decided it was easier to just use a tapestry needle and long piece of black yarn to stitch the seeds on.

I’m using Bernat Super Value yarn in colors Natural, Lush Green, and Magenta. And of course my trusty Size H Crochet Hook (the one pictured is from Polymer Clay Shed!)

Each individual watermelon slice C2C measures approximately 10 x 11 inches. I would definitely make a bigger blanket with at least 9 slices but this one is a car seat blanket for my friends new baby! My finished blanket with only 4 watermelons and the border measures about 25 x 26 inches. One watermelon slice does intentionally have a bite out of it if you couldn’t tell 🙂

I stitched the squares together with my tapestry needle and long strand of yarn using the mattress stitch. Then I crocheted a border of SC stitches. 3 rounds of natural color, 3 rounds of magenta, one round of green, and then one more round of green using the reverse SC stitch. Always be sure to make a SC + chain 2 + SC in your corners!

I’ve already seen a few of you making other things with these cute foodie graphs like pillows! Now I’m tempted to make myself an avocado pillow!

Meet Zoe’s friend Talia! Talia has a beautiful crochet blanket that has been in the family for many many years. It is her favorite blanket and well worn because she carries it with her everywhere she goes. The blanket was unraveling in several spots so Talia’s mom asked if I could replicate the blanket and crochet her a new one – but this time with more pink added in (Talia’s request)! Of course I couldn’t let our sweet little friend down! I’m sure she will still cherish the original blanket and I hope she likes her new one!

Since I wasn’t able to see the blanket in person (Talia and her family live in Oregon and we are now in California) I had to work off a few pictures. The blanket isn’t a true square granny blanket (notice the “square” stops and the corners keep going – It’s actually more of a diamond, not a square) I decided to make 4 separate pieces using the C2C Granny Stitch and sew them together to achieve the look of the original blanket. It worked perfectly! It was also nice to be able to take the 4 smaller projects with me on-the-go instead of a hauling a huge blanket around. I did some research to try and match the yarns to the original blanket and decided on Caron One Pound in Cream and Soft Pink, and Caron Jumbo in Baby Rainbow. I think I’m pretty spot on! What do you think?!

You will want to view my post on How to Crochet Corner-to-Corner Using the Granny Stitch to find a full tutorial  (video too!) on how to make the 4 squares. Once you learn the technique, please refer back to the post below for sizing and finishing details.

Finished Size: 50 x 50 inches including the border

Granny Stitch =  3 DC + chain 1
Puff Stitch =  Yarn over, insert the hook in the stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through the stitch, yarn over, and draw the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook. In the same stitch, repeat until you have 6 loops on your hook, yarn over, and pull through all the loops.

The blanket is made up of mostly the Granny Stitch except for the parts where I used the Baby Rainbow yarn with the puff stitch. Refer to my video tutorial HERE on how to make these stitches as a corner-to-corner piece. Each of my finished C2C squares (there are four) measure about 24 x 24. Below is the list of rows and color changes for each 24 x 24 square piece.

Row 1-4: cream
Row 5: pink
Row 6: rainbow (puff stitch)
Row 7: pink
Row 8-11: cream
Row 12: pink
Row 13: rainbow (puff stitch)

Now you will start your DECREASE

Fasten off but leave loose ends. You will need these to stitch your pieces together!

Lay your 4 pieces together (be sure you have a diamond shape in the middle) and use your loose ends to stitch together using your tapestry needle and the whip stitch. Be sure ALL ends are woven in.

Now lets work on the border! 
Starting in any space along the edge, attach your baby rainbow yarn and make a puff stitch + chain 4. Skip the next space and make another puff stitch + chain 4. Continue along all edges making a puff stitch + chain 4 in every other space along the border. When you get to the corners you will make a puff stitch directly in the corner stitch. Join to top of first puff stitch. Weave in ends.
Border Round 2: attach Pink yarn with a slip stitch to the top of one of the puff stitches. Now working in the next chain 4 space, make 5 DC stitches, join with a slip stitch to the top of the next puff stitch. Continue working around the edge making 5 DC stitches in the chain 4 spaces and slip stitching to the top of the puff stitches. When you get to the corners, make a chain 2 + 3 DC + chain 2 and slip stitch to join in all in same corner stitch. Join, fasten off and weave in ends.

Easter is just a few weeks away but there is still plenty of time to crochet this Bunny C2C Blanket! It really only takes a few days! It also makes a perfect gift for those Spring Babies. The fun part about this blanket is that I used Bernat Pipsqueak yarn to make the ears incredibly fuzzy and soft! Typically Pipsqueak yarn can be difficult to work with because its a fur yarn which makes the stitches hard to see… but don’t fear! Corner-to-corner crochet is the a great match for this yarn! Since you are essentially crocheting over the chain from the previous rows square, there is no exact stitch that needs to be found. This yarn is such a simple element to add that gives the blanket a whole new look and feel! The rest of the blanket is made with my go-to worsted weight yarn: Bernat Super Value. Stock up on both yarns and shop all the color combos at Yarnspirations.com! 

Materials:
– Bernat Super Value Yarn in Lilac (2 skeins), Natural (1 skein), Soft Gray (only small ball need) and Black (only two long strands needed for eyes)
– Bernat Pipsqueak Yarn in color Tickle Me Pink (2 skeins) NOTE: I ALMOST finished the second ear with just one skein – I had six more squares to go. I do believe you could make the bunny with only one skein by crocheting the ears tighter, using a HDC stitch instead of the DC, or going down a hook size.
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle

I used the Corner-to-Corner (C2C) method to crochet the graph. If you aren’t familiar with the C2C technique, I have a video class available HERE for purchase that teaches you this technique! This blanket is square so you don’t have to worry about increasing on one side and decrease on the other (like you would need to do in a rectangle blanket). So the square shape makes it less confusing if you are a newbie to corner-to-corner crochet. Finished blanket size is 32 x 32 inches (including the small border)

With purple, SC between the C2C square, chain 2, SC between next square, repeat all the way around edge making a SC + chain 2 + SC in each of the four corners.
Switch to white yarn
Slip stitch to join in first chain 2 space, make 4 DC in next, slip stitch to next chain 2 space, repeat around. Join to first slip stitch, fasten off and weave in ends.

PS – there really isn’t that many loose ends in this project! It probably took me a total of 30 minutes to weave in my ends.

My friend Tiffany at Daisy Farm Crafts also has bunnies and pixel graphs on the brain! Head over to her blog to see her Modern Crochet Bunny Blanket! She used Bernat Softee Baby yarn and the SC stitch to make her graphgan!

A few weeks ago I started a project just for me! I am obsessed with La Croix Sparkling Water (especially the Pamplemousse/Grapefruit flavor) and I give credit to this refreshing bubble water for helping me kick my diet coke habit which in turn helped me lose all my baby weight! You can read my Weight Watchers Success Story HERE if you are interested in seeing some fun before and after pics! So I thought the idea of crocheting a blanket, using the corner-to-corner method, with an image of a La Croix can would be a fun project 🙂

I used the pampelmousse pixel graph image that accompanies THIS cross-stitch pattern. It costs $4.50 on Etsy to purchase the graph. You can actually buy several different flavors from the La Croix line. They all come as cross-stitch patterns but you can use the pixel graph in the cross stitch pattern the same way you would use a pixel graph for a C2C project!

I used Caron Simply Soft Yarn in the most perfect colors: Grey Heather, White, Watermelon, Strawberry, Country Peach, Robins Egg OR Blue Mint (I screwed up a little and told you Blue Mint originally and then realized I was actually using Robins Egg – you could use either!!), and Royal Blue. This allowed me to have a smaller overall blanket and tighter stitches but you can absolutely use DC stitches if that is more comfortable for you!

The finished size of my blanket is 47 inches tall x 30 inches wide

Ready to start the border?! I used the moss stitch (SC + Chain 1) along the edges. I have a little over 50 stitches on the short edge and 90 on the long edges. Don’t make too many stitches along the edge or else your blanket will ripple. In the corners make a SC + chain 1 two times! I have 8 rounds of white and then 2 rounds of each color in this order gray, blue, light blue, peach, strawberry, and watermelon.

Now it’s time to weave in your ends!! Don’t worry, I have a video tutorial on this HERE to clear up any confusion on how to go about this. I’m not going to lie, you will have A LOT of ends to weave in if you decide to do this project, but it was so worth it to me in the end!

Do you recall? The most famous Reindeer of all?! Yes, it’s Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer peeking out of the corner of this cute C2C (corner-to-corner) blanket! I know we only have about a month until Christmas, but this pattern is pretty easy because there aren’t a whole lot of complicated color changes. I actually didn’t have that many ends to weave in!

The finished size is approximately 35 inches x 32 inches. This is great lapghan or childs blanket size but you could absolutely make it bigger if you wanted to by increasing the border or using DC stitches instead of the HDC stitches that I used.

After you have finished the main blanket, you can choose to add a border or leave without a border as pictured above.

With green, SC between between “squares” on edge and chain two in-between. So you will SC +chain 2 + SC all the way around, making a SC +Chain 2+SC all in one stitch in each corner.

Then with green, make 2 HDC in each chain 2 space all the way around the blanket. Make 2 HDC + chain 2 + 2 HDC in each corner.

For the last round of the border, switch to red yarn and SC in each stitch around making 2 SC + Chain 2 + 2 SC in each corner. Fasten off and weave in ends!

And then an adorable spider comes down from the top to say hello! Halloween doesn’t need to be scary or creepy. I just love making cutsie creations for my seasonal decor!

Round 3: SC over each chain 1 space around entire blanket. Make 2 SC + chain 2 + 2 SC in each corner.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

I surface slip stitched the whiskers on the cat. This is completely optional.
Ever wonder why sometimes the squares of the same color seem disconnected on corner-to-corner projects? There is a simple answer and fix to this! See how I use my loose ends to my advantage!

I know many of you have been waiting for this pattern and today is the day that is available RIGHT HERE at Yarnspirations.com! The Daisy Blanket is my latest corner-to-corner design and in this version I used the super soft and tiny Bernat Blanket Tiny Yarn! It has the same soft texture as the regular Bernat Blanket yarn but not as thick and heavy! Perfect for larger graphs and light weight for baby’s first blanket. Of course you can absolutely use any yarn of your choosing and follow the same pattern and graph. Using a thicker and heavier weight yarn will adjust the final size of the blanket. This particular blanket is baby size… perfect for a car seat blanket!

I only needed one skein of each color in the Tiny yarn BUT I recommend that when working with C2C graphs you have multiple skeins attached at one time so you can carry your yarn up from the previous row instead of clipping it off every time you need to switch color.

The border can be continued to become as large as you’d like it!
I only have two rounds of edging but you can have many more!

Every month or two I create a crochet pattern and project to be hosted on the Yarnspirations website – like this one! Hoppy Day! My bunny C2C project is finished and I turned it into an adorable pillow sham! Such a cute piece of decor for a kids room or for the Easter holiday. And gender neutral! I would love to see someone make a row of gray bunnies! It fits a standard size bed pillow so no need to use a bunch of fiberfil stuffing or search for a custom pillow size to make this project!

Materials:
– Bernat Super Value Yarn in Mint, Baby Pink, Lilac, and Winter White. You will need 2 skeins of Mint (or whatever color you will use for the back). And 1 skein of the other colors. Shop all 73 colors of this yarn at Yarnspirations.com.

 VERY IMPORTANT: Instead of the traditional C2C method of using DC’s and chain 3’s to make each pixel, I used HDC’s and only chained 2 (and chained 5 instead 6 on the increase stitches). This allowed me to have a smaller overall piece. You can absolutely use the traditional method but your piece will be too large for the pillow sham.

You will want to make two rounds of SC along the edges. To do that, join yarn at any point on the edge and SC evenly around entire piece making a SC+chain 2+SC on the two pointed ends. A good way to keep your stitches even along the edge is to alternate between making 2 SC and then 3 SC along each “square.”

Make 3 large yarn pom poms and attach them to the bunny butts 🙂

After you finish the graph above you will need to make a second piece for the back in a solid color (I used Mint green). Make the same SC border along the edges.

When both pieces are done, SC them together along over the pillow. If you would rather be able to make the pillow removable, leave one button unstitched and use buttons for closer.

Lay back and relax!

Pretty Purple Stripes! I’ve been working on this blanket for awhile now. It was my back burner project that I would pick up here and there and take with me when I needed something simple and mindless to stitch. I decided it was finally time to finish this WIP (work in progress) and share with you the completed project. The best part is that you can choose any color combo for this blanket and with the repetitive rows, it’s a fairly easy one to complete! A great gift idea for all ages.

Materials:
– Bernat Super Value Yarn in Damson, White,  and Lavendar. Shop all colors at Yarnspirations.com. This is a worsted weight yarn with a large selection of colors! I’ve been working on this for so long that I’m not quite sure exactly how much I used. I’m guessing 3-4 skeins of lavender and two each of dark purple and white.
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle

Finished Size: Approximately 52 inches tall x 40 inches wide. I’m a little under 5’3 and this covers my body. You can always increase in size by adding a larger border or by using thicker yarn and going up a hook size or two.

The Border:
Round 1: With lavender, SC between any two “squares” on your border, chain 2, SC between the next two squares, chain 2, repeat around. Be sure to make a SC + chain 2 + SC in each corner.
Round 2: Continuing with lavender, make 3 SC over first chain 2 space, 2 SC over next chain 2 space, repeat around. Be sure to make a SC + chain 2 + SC in each corner.
Round 3-4: SC in each stitch around with lavender yarn. Be sure to make a SC + chain 2 + SC in each corner.
Round 5: With dark purple, crab stitch (also called a reverse SC) around entire edge. Make a crab stitch + chain 2 + crab stitch in each corner.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner you might be looking for some cute but simple decor ideas. Look no further! Using the corner-to-corner crochet method, you can whip up a Valentine’s Heart Table Runner in no time! Plus you can make it as long or short as you’d like by adding or leaving off one or more hearts to the design. My runner is 64 inches long and 12 inches wide (not including the tassels). Whether you are planning a romantic dinner or take-out with the kids, this decor idea will brighten your table and put you in a festive mood!

Materials:

First you will want to download the Valentine’s Heart Runner Pixel Graph.
You can do that HERE.

Next you will want to download the pixel graph with the end pieces of Valentine’s Heart Runner. You can do that HERE. You will need to crochet two of these pieces.

UPDATE! Thanks to Keilanna Hammond for taking the time to create a written pattern from the table runner graph! She typed out all the instructions for each row to make it easier for some of you, especially since some of you are printing your graph in gray scale. GET THE WRITTEN PATTERN HERE.

Once you have crocheted your two end pieces, you will want to transform the edge with ridges to a smooth edge so you can sew it onto either end of your heart runner.

To smooth the ridges:

Slip stitch across first 3 stitches and slip stitch over the chain 3 which brings you to the first “dip,” HDC in first stitch in the dip, SC in next, slip stitch in next, Slip Stitch over the chain 3. Now you are at the next dip. HDC, SC, slip stitch, slip stitch over chain 3. Repeat all the way down.

Now you are ready to sew the triangle ends on!

Weave long strand and tapestry needle back and forth under the SC stitches on both sides.

Now join red yarn at any point on the edge and SC evenly around entire piece making a SC+chain 2+SC on the two pointed ends. A good way to keep your stitches even along the edge is to alternate between making 2 SC and then 3 SC along each “square.” You will want to make two rounds of SC along the edges.

Now switch to white yarn and make one last round of SC stitches around the entire edge. Remember to make a SC+chain 2+SC on the two pointed ends.
Add a little frill to the last round of your border! SC, chain 4, skip one stitch, SC to next, chain 4, skip one stitch, SC to next, repeat around.
Add a yarn tassel to each end to complete the piece!

Happy New Year! 2017 is going to be a great year with some amazing new projects and tons of FREE crochet patterns like this one that will be available right here on my blog! I will also be collaborating with Yarnspirations this year and you will find several of my patterns on their site (also free!) throughout the year so be sure to follow along!

My first pattern of the year is this cute little Polar Bear Cub Crochet C2C Blanket! Measuring 32×32 inches it is the perfect size baby blanket and a fun winter-themed project. Like most crochet blankets, you can always make them bigger by continuing to add to the border! You could also make multiple C2C squares and stitch them together like I did with my Christmas Character Afghan.

Materials:

As you can see, you will have some ends to weave in, but overall this is a fairly quick project! See how I weave in my ends in C2C projects HERE.

For the border I made two rounds of SC along all edges (SC + chain 2 + SC in the corners) and then I did the third round of the border in reverse SC stitches (also called the crab stitch)

Christmas crocheting is now in full swing! And this Crochet C2C Gingerbread House Advent Calendar is hot off my hook! First I created an extra tall and long gingerbread house using the corner-to-corner crochet technique. Then I crocheted little C2C pockets that I stitched on the gingerbread house. It’s countdown to Christmas from the 1st of December all the way down to Christmas Eve! Stuff them with  little treats, candy canes, small toys, or a little note. Make sure you crochet a Gingerbread Man to move pockets so you know what day you are on!

Materials:
– Bernat Super Value Yarn in Topaz (brown) – you will need 2 skeins, Berry (red), Fern, Bright yellow, Mulberry (purple), and White. See all the colors at Yarnspirations.com!
– Size H crochet Hook
– Tapestry needle
– 20 inch wooden dowel rod (about 5/16 inch thick)
– Felt number stickers

Finished size: 21 inches wide x 45 inches tall

First you will want to download the Gingerbread Pixel Graph. You can do that HERE. Originally I designed it so that there was a peppermint window but you will actually need this space for a pocket. Also note that when you are done, the gingerbread C2C is reversible so whatever side you feel looks better, use that side for your pockets. If you aren’t familiar with the C2C technique, I have a video class available HERE for purchase that teaches you this technique! The Crochet Crowd also has a very helpful video tutorial for FREE that shows you the basic technique of corner-to-corner crochet. Check that out HERE.

Then you will make 23 (or 24) C2C pockets in brown. These will be 3 x 3 squares. You don’t really need a graph for this but I am including one below 🙂 Then you will make the last pocket in 4 x 4 size in green to go over the door.

Once you have crocheted the 3 x 3 squares, you will want to SC around three of the edges in white.

Remember that you will want to ignore my peppermint window (it will also save you a lot of ends to weave in!) I’m not going to lie, the “gumdrop” roof does require a lot of color changes and you will have some ends to weave in. Fortunately, the bulk of the project is brown so no ends to weave in there!

Line up your pockets and stitch them on!

Stick your felt number stickers on to the pockets. I used the Creatology brand from Michaels and had to buy 4 packets. You might be able to find other felt number stickers or you can cut your own out of felt.. or use puffy paint or crochet on your numbers! Lots of options and I can’t wait to see what you come up with  🙂

Now to add a candy cane crochet border! First I single crocheted around the entire piece with one round of red and then a second round SC in green. Make a SC + chain 2 + SC in the corners. After that you will want to attach your white yarn (in any spot), make a SC and chain 4, then leave it and insert your hook into the next stitch and with red, make a SC and chain 4. Now insert your hook back in the white chain 4 and join to the next stitch (overlapping the red) with a SC and chain 4. Repeat while alternating colors.

Do the same for the corners, just make 4 chain stitches in the corners.

I used a wooden dowel rod sewn onto the back top of the project to support it. I crocheted  a chain of 40 (with 2 more SC rows) to create a strip to attach to the rod so you can hang it. And then 3 separate strips with a starting chain of 20 and an additional 3 rows of SC stitches. These you will sew over the dowel rod and onto the top back right under the border.

Hang on the wall using a command hook and you’re ready for your countdown to Christmas!!

Looking for a quick, easy, and gender neutral baby blanket?! This one is going to be your new go-to pattern! I’ve combined my two newest obsessions: Bernat Blanket Yarn and C2C (corner-to-corner) to create this extra soft and snuggly Teddy Bear Blanket! If you aren’t familiar with Bernat Blanket Yarn, it is a bulky weight, soft and cozy chenille-style yarn that is great for plush blankets, crochet baskets, and home decor accessories. This chunky yarn stitches up quickly so it’s the perfect choice for this project. Even with a small(ish) pixel graph like this one, you can create a nice size blanket! Plus it’s machine washable and dryable for easy care.

If you haven’t tried the C2C (corner-to-corner) technique there are a couple of resources for you to check out. I have created several C2C projects like THIS one and THIS one that you can refer to, but you should definitely take a look at  THIS VIDEO DEMONSTRATION by The Crochet Crowd which is a good starting point to learn how to crochet in the corner-to-corner method.

Spring is the perfect season to enjoy a little iced coffee or tea and crochet outside! At least once I week I like to take an hour to myself to sit on the patio and relax with my hook, yarn, and a cup of Starbucks® Black Iced Coffee. But if tea is more your thing, Starbucks® TAZO series has a plethora of flavors… their Chai Tea being one of my favorites 🙂 This weekend I worked up a C2C coffee cup granny square that is perfect for all you coffee and crochet lovers! A great size square for a granny blanket OR use it as a potholder or trivet!

Starbucks® Black Iced Coffee: Medium roast and ready to drink from the bottle or pour over ice! Love that it comes sweetened and unsweetened versions. Perfect for busy moms on the go!
Starbucks® Pike Place Roast Coffee: The classic! I grew up in Seattle, WA and Pike Place Market is home of the original Starbucks store. Such a great place to visit if you ever get the chance. This roast is smooth and satisfying! I have the K-cups which make brewing a cup so convenient every morning.
TAZO® Chai Tea Filterbag Tea: A dark tea with sweet cinnamon and ginger added. A great beverage to add into the mix when you want something flavorful and different from your basic cup of coffee.

And she is allowing me to share all of the pixel graphs she created right here on my blog! Inspired by my Emojis, Steph got the idea to make 20×20 square pixel graphs of iPhone Apps, just as the icons would appear on the home screen of your phone. Then she stitched them all together to make a fun and fabulous blanket that looks just like an iPhone! You can see the blanket in progress on her Instagram. Very trendy for todays tweens, teens, and those of us (like me) who love our Apple devices 😉

I created 9 Emoji Crochet C2C (corner-to-corner) squares and stitched them together to make a fun Emoji Graphgan! A fairly simple project that you can easily add to.  A great gift for your teen or tween! Don’t forget about the “Poop Pillow” to pair with your Emoji Face Blanket!

I stitched my squares together by simply SC the edges. First horizontally and then vertically. This is the same technique I used to put together my Daisy Afghan.

Yellow used in tutorial to show the stitches better. I ultimately decided on white for the seams.

I made a simple SC border around the entire edge. First using white, then yellow, brown, and white again. Be sure that you make a SC + Chain 2 + SC on each corner.

To put together a pillow you will need to make a second square that is 15×15 pixel squares (it can be a solid color). You will also need a 12×12 pillow form. I purchase mine at Michael’s Craft Store.

SC the front and back pieces together. You will want to stop after 3 sides are connect. Insert your pillow form and SC the last side closed. Weave in ends.

So which do you prefer? The poop square or the prayer square?!

Want to create your own emoji pixel square? Use THIS blank 15×15 template. Print it out and fill it in with colored pencils. I make my graphs in Excel and then fill in the squares in photoshop.

I am creating a 9-square corner-to-corner (C2C) blanket just like my Christmas Character Afghan but smaller. The squares are 15×15 pixels (where as my Christmas characters were 25×25) and each one has a different emoji face on it! And because of the consistent colors, smaller size, and less color changes, the pieces work up faster. It took me about 1.5 hours to make one square. If you aren’t up for creating an entire blanket, you can use the squares individually! They would make a cute pillow cover or even a small lovey blanket!

If you are new to the C2C technique you can find several tutorials on how to begin. The Crochet Crowd has a great video tutorial that you can watch HERE. You can also refer to the videos and picture tutorials in my Baby Sheep C2C or my Owl C2C for more instruction.

Materials:
– Size G Crochet Hook
– Worsted Weight Yarn in Yellow, Red, Brown, White, Pink, Black and Blue. I am using Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Mustard, Scarlett, Chocolate, Pink, White, Black and Aqua (for all squares). You only need about 1 skein for each piece… I think I was able to get two squares out of  1.5 skeins of white and yellow. Obviously the smaller features use less yarn.
– Tapestry needle

Finished Square is approx 12 x 12 inches.

NOTE: I made a last minute decision to leave off the orange and only use yellow. I am leaving the graphs with the orange border just in case you decide you want to crochet yours like that. If you are up for the extra color change I think the emoji’s will look great with the orange! Or you can leave the orange squaresyellow as I did.

I am creating a 9-square corner-to-corner (C2C) blanket just like my Christmas Character Afghan but smaller. The squares are 15×15 pixels (where as my Christmas characters were 25×25) and each one has a different emoji face on it! And because of the consistent colors, smaller size, and less color changes, the pieces work up faster. It took me about 1.5 hours to make one square. If you aren’t up for creating an entire blanket, you can use the squares individually! They would make a cute pillow cover or even a small lovey blanket!

If you are new to the C2C technique you can find several tutorials on how to begin. The Crochet Crowd has a great video tutorial that you can watch HERE. You can also refer to the videos and picture tutorials in my Baby Sheep C2C or my Owl C2C for more instruction.

Materials:
– Size G Crochet Hook
– Worsted Weight Yarn in Yellow, Red, Brown, White, Pink, Black and Blue. I am using Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Mustard, Scarlett, Chocolate, Pink, White, Black and Aqua (for all squares). You only need about 1 skein for each piece… I think I was able to get two squares out of  1.5 skeins of white and yellow. Obviously the smaller features use less yarn.
– Tapestry needle

Finished Square is approx 12 x 12 inches.

NOTE: I made a last minute decision to leave off the orange and only use yellow. I am leaving the graphs with the orange border just in case you decide you want to crochet yours like that. Have you found that sometimes your squares don’t connect? This is normal! For example lets look at the smile in this particular emoji. You see the brown squares are connected on one side of the smile, but disconnected on the other. The squares that are connected were crocheted all in one diagonal row, whereas the squares that are disconnected were in separate rows and were actually separated by rows of yellow in-between. This is just the nature of the C2C graph.

Don’t worry, you can fix this!

When it’s time to weave in your ends, stitch your yarn between the two corners about 3 times to created a connection.

Voila! No more awkward space!

Heart Eyes

I am creating a 9-square corner-to-corner (C2C) blanket just like my Christmas Character Afghan but smaller. The squares are 15×15 pixels (where as my Christmas characters were 25×25) and each one has a different emoji face on it! And because of the consistent colors, smaller size, and less color changes, the pieces work up faster. It took me about 1.5 hours to make one square. If you aren’t up for creating an entire blanket, you can use the squares individually! They would make a cute pillow cover or even a small lovey blanket!

If you are new to the C2C technique you can find several tutorials on how to begin. The Crochet Crowd has a great video tutorial that you can watch HERE. You can also refer to the videos and picture tutorials in my Baby Sheep C2C or my Owl C2C for more instruction.

Materials:
– Size G Crochet Hook
– Worsted Weight Yarn in Yellow, Red, Brown, White, Pink, Black and Blue. I am using Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Mustard, Scarlett, Chocolate, Pink, White, Black and Aqua (for all squares). You only need about 1 skein for each piece… I think I was able to get two squares out of  1.5 skeins of white and yellow. Obviously the smaller features use less yarn.
– Tapestry needle

Finished Square is approx 12 x 12 inches.

NOTE: I made a last minute decision to leave off the orange and only use yellow. I am leaving the graphs with the orange border just in case you decide you want to crochet yours like that. If you are up for the extra color change I think the emoji’s will look great with the orange! Or you can leave the orange squares yellow as I did.

I have some exciting news! I’ve collaborated with Lion Brand Yarn on a new C2C (corner-to-corner) crochet project: An owl baby blanket!! So cute, right?! You’ve seen me give a couple sneak peeks of this on Facebook and Instagram but now that I am about halfway through, I’m able to give you a better look at the design. I created the graph in Photoshop and am working hard on writing out very clear instructions. Even beginners will be able to make this blanket! The tutorial will include the printable owl graph, detailed photo tutorials, a written pattern for the color changes, AND a written pattern for the entire graph (I’ve never seen this done before but we are breaking the mold!). The final post and pattern will be available in early November on the Lion Brand Yarn Blog. I will be sure to let you know when it is finished and give you a link to the final post and pattern when it’s ready!

This gingerbread house pixel graph can be used for so many different projects! I designed it with the idea of making it into a gingerbread house blanket as a part of my house blanket series (see the Winter Cabin and the Haunted Halloween House) and I still plan on creating a corner-to-corner crochet version of this, but first I made it into a little single crochet square!

I used the plain gingerbread house pixel graph for this single crochet square. Each of the squares in the pixel graph = one single crochet stitch. I decided to use a size G hook but a larger hook would work as well. With only 3 colors, it was easy to change color when needed without too many ends to weave in.
Start with a chain of 26 and then work in rows from the bottom up, following the color changes.

The house color is Bernat Super Value in color Topaz (the perfect Gingerbread color!)
The background is Red Heart Super Saver in Cherry Red.
You will also need white, spring green, lavender, and saffron yellow.

I added the embellishments on top by using a lot of surface slip stitching.
If you need help with the surface slip stitch technique, I have a video tutorial HERE.
The candy canes are surface slip stitching with both white and red strands of yarn at the same time. The gumdrops along the roofline are about 3-4 surface slip stitches in the same place to create the look of a larger French knot. Then I tied the loose ends on the backside.
The heart pattern = with red yarn, chain 3, 2 DC in first chain + slip stitch in first chain, chain 3 again, 2 DC + slip stitch in first chain. Fasten off.
The door is crocheted by following the pixel graph. 1 pixel = 1 single crochet stitch.

So what will I used this little 6×7 inch crochet gingerbread house for? I am going add it to a gingerbread Hexi Cardi I’m working on as the pockets! More information on the Gingerbread Themed Hexagon Cardigan coming soon. But honestly, this square could be a cute purse, treat pouch, mini pillow, a square in a larger granny square blanket, and more!

Feel free to grab the graphs and get started on this pattern in time for the holidays! Use it however you’d like.

I got an idea to make a few other versions of my Winter Cabin Blanket! The snowy house that is featured at the center of the winter cabin blanket, can easily become other cute seasonal houses. I’m starting with this Halloween Haunted House version and then I have an adorable Gingerbread House to make next!

I think we could make a whole set of Holiday Houses! If you have ideas for other houses, please leave suggestions in the comments. My mind is already going towards a Barn and a Beach House.

I am using the Corner-to-Corner crochet technique to crochet the houses. You could also make this as a Single Crochet Graphgan. After I finish the C2C house, I am going to use simple stitches to create a large border similar to the one in the Winter Cabin Blanket HERE.

If you are new to the Corner-to-Corner (C2C) Crochet technique, let me explain a little bit about it. You can take a pixel graph and turn it into a crocheted piece. By starting in one corner of the graph (the lower right hand is most common place to start), you will crochet crochet diagonally in rows until you get to the other corner. One pixel square = a chain 2 + 3 HDC stitches. Please note that I am using HDC stitches for the C2C instead of DC.

I am working on the crescent moon version and will update this post with the border and final blanket when it’s done. I just wanted to make sure you had the graphs and patterns so you could get started. It’s the perfect project for an October night!

Now let’s get started on the BORDER! I am so excited to have figured out how to include a row of BATS along the edging! Follow along below and I will post pictures when I am finished with the blanket.

Border Round 1:
SC in the spaces between each “pixel square”, chain 2 in between each SC. When you get to the corners make a SC + chain 2 + SC in each.

Border Round 2:
Make 2 SC in each chain 2 space all the way around. Make a SC + chain 2 + SC in each corner.

Border Round 3:
Switch to black yarn
DC in each stitch around. Make 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC in each corner.

Border Round 4:
Switch to gold yarn
DC in each stitch around. Make 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC in each corner.

Border Round 5:
Switch to yellow yarn
SC in each stitch around. Make a SC + chain 2 + SC in each corner.
Fasten off yellow yarn after joining to first SC in round.

Border Round 6:
Join yellow yarn to corner, make a SC + chain 2 + SC in corner.
SC in first 7 stitches, join in black yarn, make 2 HDC in next stitch, switch back to yellow, SC in next 7, 2 HDC in next stitch, continue around. Do not make 2 HDC with black in the corners. You will end with about 7 stitches (if you have an extra stitch or two before the corner, that is ok!), make a corner (SC + chain 2 + SC), make another 7 stitches, and then start with the 2 HDC along straight edge.

You should have the start of 7 bats along each straight edge of the blanket.
Carry the yarn as you go.

Border Round 7:
Make a SC + chain 2 + SC in corner.
SC with yellow until you get to two stitches before your HDCs.
Skip a stitch and *with black yarn, make 2 DC in the stitch before your 2 HDCs, chain 2, make 2 DC stitches in the stitch right after your HDCs, skip a stitch, switch back to yellow, make 3 SC between each bat, skip a stitch and repeat from *

You should have 3 SC stitches in yellow between the bats and about 7 SC stitches before and after each corner. Make a SC + chain 2 + SC in each corner.

Fasten off black yarn after this round.

Border Round 8:
with yellow yarn
Make a SC + chain 2 + SC in each corner.
SC in each stitch along edge but skip over the black yarn DCs and make 3 SC stitches over the chain 2 space and the middle of those 2 HDCs from round 6. Skip the next 2 DC made with black, continue to SC in each stitch and make 3 SC stitches between the bat wings.

Border Round 8:
with yellow yarn
SC in each stitch around, make a SC + chain 2 + SC in each corner, join

Border Round 9:
Switch to gold yarn
DC in each stitch around. Make 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC in each corner.

Border Round 10:
Switch to black yarn
DC in each stitch around. Make 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC in each corner.

Border Round 11-16:
Switch to purple yarn
DC in each stitch around. Make 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC in each corner.

Border Round 17:
Switch to black yarn
DC in each stitch around. Make 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC in each corner.

Border Round 18:
Switch to gold yarn
DC in each stitch around. Make 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC in each corner.

Border Round 19:
Switch to yellow yarn
DC in each stitch around. Make 2 DC + chain 2 + 2 DC in each corner.
Fasten off or continue to DC in rounds using any sequence of colors.

The finished blanket is about 38 x 38 inches so you will want to continue to crochet in rounds if you want a larger afghan.

Add crochet bats to the corners!
I came up with this easy bat applique a few days ago and it works perfectly on all 4 corners of the blanket as an alternative to pom-poms or tassels.

Excuse me while I go rip out the border on my Corner-to-Corner Crochet Gnome Blanket and add this masterpiece to it instead! Fellow crocheter Trina has come up with the perfect border for the gnome blanket I made last year: It’s a GNOME BORDER! Just look at these adorable little gnomes all in a row. You could actually make an entire blanket just out rows of gnomes!

Trina posted her incredible gnome blanket and border design in my Repeat Crafter Me Crochet Facebook Group and it has gained a lot of attention. She private messaged me to say she didn’t have a pattern for the border but if I could make sense of her notes, she would be happy if I could post a pattern.

I worked through her notes (which I will also post below) and came up with a simplified version that would be easy for you to follow. My simplified pattern is worked in rows and the starting chain of 32 (16 in the video) is just to show you the technique as a sample project.

If you were using it as a border, you would continue the gnomes for as along as you could go on the edges of your blanket. Then make SC stitches in any extra space along the edge plus a SC + chain 1 + SC in the corners. The pattern below is written in rows so you can get a feel for the pattern. Again, if you were working this into a border you wold work in rounds and disregard the chain 1 + turn.

Materials:
– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Blue, Light Blue (Delft Blue), Cherry Red, Beige, White, Caffe Latte Brown, Spring Green, Dark Green (Paddy Green).
– Size H Crochet Hook

Crochet Gnome Border

Gnomes in Rows:

Row 1 (dark sky): Starting with dark blue yarn, Chain 32 (for sample or triple this for larger blanket) SC in second chain from hook and remaining stitches in chain (31 SC) 

Row 2 (blue sky): Join in light blue yarn, Chain 2, turn, DC in each stitch (31 DC)

Row 3 (hats of gnome): Join in red yarn, Chain 1, turn, SC in first stitch, slip stitch in next, skip a stich, 5 DC in next, Skip 1 stitch, slip stitch into the next, repeat around, make a SC in last stitch.

Row 4 (gnome face/noses): Join in beige yarn, chain 1, turn, SC in first stitch, SC in next 2 stiches working in the DC stitches from row 2. Work a 3 stitch bobble into the 3rd DC of the hat round, then SC into the next 3 of the DC stitches from row 2. (your bobble nose anchors the DC cluster and makes the nose more visible). Repeat for the rest of the round, make a SC in last stitch.

Row 5 (gnome beard): Join the white yarn, chain 1, turn, SC in first stitch, chain 2, Dc5tog over the next 5 stitches to create the beard, chain 2, 5dctog, chain 2, and repeat around, make a SC in last stitch.

Row 6 (gnome shoes): Join in brown yarn, chain 1, turn, make a SC in first stitch, chain 2, 3 stitch bobble into the stitch before beard and another 3 stitch bobble in stitch created by the dc5tog, chain 2 and repeat making a SC in last stitch.

Row 7 (light green grass): Join in light green yarn, chain 1, turn, make a SC in first stitch, 2 SC over both chain 2’s from Row 5 and Row 6, SC in next 2 stitchs over the bobble shoes, 2 SC over next chain 2 space, repeat until end, make a SC in last stitch. (31 SC)

Row 8 (light green grass continued): continuing with light green yarn, chain 1, turn and make a SC in each stitch across, (31 SC)

Row 9 (dark green grass): Join in dark green yarn, SC in each stitch across. (31 SC)

Repeat starting at Row 1 to make rows of gnomes or use this as a border on a blanket.

These are the pattern notes that Trina sent in case you want to try to replicate what she did:

Starting on one corner I did one round of SC (1sc, ch 1, 1sc on each corner, straight sc on the sides). Joined a second color, and did a full round of DC in that color (1dc, ch1, 1dc in each corner as before). Joined the hat color, sc into any stitches before the corner, place (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc) in the corner, then stitched into the a couple stitches after the corner to make it look symmetrical. The gnome itself is worked over 5 stitches. Ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch, and only after each corner to give it a bit of height for the dc clusters coming up), sk 2 sts, 5dc into the next, sk 1 st, sl into the next, and repeat around. SC into any extra stitches at the corners if you have them. Switch to the ‘face’ color, SC into the previous round up to and including the corners, and any extra stitches you had after the corner and up to the first stitch of your first dc cluster, then begin working into the previous round of dc (not the hat round, the one before that). SC in next 2, work a 3 st bobble into the 3rd DC of the hat round, then dc into the next 2 of the previous round (your bobble nose anchors the dc cluster and makes the nose more visible). Continue this way for the rest of the round. Join the beard color, and sc up to the corner. 1sc, ch1, 1scinto the corne, and sc into any stitches up the the first dc in your hat cluster. Dc5tog  to create the beard. Not sure if things right, but to get the beard symmetrical, I completed the first part of 3 dc into each of the first 3 st, then on the 3rd, completed the next part of the stitch, leaving 3 Loops on my hook, and did the same for the next 2 stitches, each time leaving 3 Loops on my hook before moving to the next stitch, and then completed the last stitch entirely, and it left the peak of the beard centered. Any other way I tried it, the beard was off center. Chain 4, 5dctog in the next stitch, and repeat around. At each corner, I did a ch 2 instead of a ch 5, before sc into the remaining stitches up to the corner. Join grass color. Sc into any open stitches up to the corner, 1 sc, ch1, 1sc in the corner, and sc into any open stitches up to your gnome grouping, work 2 sc over the ch2 from the previous round, pulling up the shoe color as your last loop. 3 st bobble into the stitch created by the dc5tog, and again over the chain on the other side of the beard. Using the grass color, 3 sc over both the shoe color and the ch sts from the previous round, pulling up the shoe color on your last st. Repeat as before. Then after that, I just did another full round of SC in grass color, and one more in another color, before finishing off.

If you are new to Corner-to-Corner Crochet, let me help you! C2C lets you turn almost any image into a pixel graph and then from a pixel graph into a crocheted piece! The Corner-to-Corner technique basically means the you start in one corner (the lower right hand is most common place to start) and crochet diagonally in rows until you get to the other corner. You follow the pixel graph to create the color changes that make up the pixel picture. One pixel square = a chain 2 + 3 HDC stitches. Please note that I am using HDC stitches for the C2C instead of DC. You can use either! The DC is more common but keep in mind that if you use Double Crochet, it will end up slightly bigger.

Let’s add a little bit of color to our crochet bouquet with this Tulip Flowers! I have made crochet tulips in the past but never with this 3-dimensional look which I think turned out fabulous and coordinates perfectly with the Daisy Flower and Sunflower. So many colors to choose from in the Red Heart Super Saver yarn line. A dozen tulips in different colors would be beautiful!

Materials:
– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Papaya (this is a Red Heart with Love color), Jade, Orchid, and Spring Green for the stem.
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Pip Cleaners (green color is best but I only had brown on hand)
– Poly-fil fiber stuffing
– Tapestry Needle

Crochet Tulip Pattern:

Flower Part 1:
with pink (or whatever color you want your tulip to be)
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 10 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 3-10: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Fasten off after round 10, leave long tail
Stuff with polyfil 

Pinch the top of flower in closed and weave tapestry needle through middle

Then pinch it the other direction and weave tapestry needle through middle the other direction. This should give you 4 little points at the top of the flower.

Flower Part 2 (The Flower Petals): Make 2
with same color as your main flower
Chain 12, DC in 3^rd chain from hook and in next 3, HDC in next 3, SC in next 2, 3 SC in last, now working on other side of chain, SC in first 2, HDC in next 3, DC in last 4, join to first DC. Fasten off leaving long tail.
Stitch on petals to either side of tulip flower.

Leaves:
Chain 13, slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook, SC in next, HDC in next 3, DC in next 3, TC (triple crochet) in next 3, DC in last + chain 2 to join back to last chain, fasten off. Stitch onto stem.

Stem:
with spring green yarn
Chain 36 (or less for a shorter stem), SC in second chain from hook and in the next 32 chains (you should have 3 chains remaining), HDC in remaining 3 chains, chain 1, turn
Row 2: HDC in first 3 stithes, SC in remaining, chain 1, turn
Row 3: SC in first 32 stitches, HDC in remaining 3, fasten off leaving long tail
Tip: leave both loose ends attached.

Bend one end of your pipe cleaner and twist so it’s not pokey on the bottom. This will go on the bottom of your stem. Leave the top of pipe cleaner sticking out over the top (where the HDC stitches are).

With your tapestry needle, stitch stem piece around your pipe cleaner. Make sure you stitch around the bottom so your pipe cleaner isn’t poking through.

Now with the end that is hanging over the top, poke it through a stitch on the bottom of the tulip flower.
Stitch the top of the stem to the bottom of the tulip with your other loose end!

Welcome to my new Crochet-Along for 2023! So many of you enjoyed the C2C Gnome CAL last year that I’ve had many requests for a new monthly project. This year will be all about Animal Squares!! These are simple crochet squares that are embellished with adorable animal faces! These squares work up quickly and won’t take you more than an hour or two. This project is extremely beginner friendly and will be less pressure (for me and you) so no need to rush or set aside multiple days in your busy schedule. You can start these anytime!

The first square is already done! It’s an adorable Polar Bear Square. YOU CAN FIND THE PATTERN + VIDEO TUTORIAL FOR THE POLAR BEAR SQUARE HERE.

Our second square is a horse! Get the HORSE CROCHET SQUARE HERE!

The third square for the month of March is this lovely LION! Get the Pattern HERE.

The fourth square for the month of April is this sweet little Lamb! Get the Pattern HERE.

The fifth square for the month of May is this friendly FROG! Get the Pattern HERE.

The sixth square for the month of June is the HIPPOPOTAMUS!

The seventh square for the month of July is a Pig!

The eighth square for the month of August is a Koala!

The ninth square for the month of September is a Fox!

The eleventh square for the month of November is a Penguin!

The twelfth square for the month of December is a Deer/Reindeer

Note: CAL stands for Crochet-A-Long (typically written crochet-along or just abbreviated to CAL)

How this CAL works:
Each month (January through December of 2023) I will post a new Crochet Animal Square. These won’t necessarily be holiday themed but many of them will be seasonal (for instance, the polar bear represents winter and has a cute little blue scarf on). A few animals are random because I like the colors and it fits with the overall design 🙂 At the end of the year, I will be stitching these all together to make a blanket! But they could also be turned into a pillow(s), a scarf, or any other creative way you’d like to use them.

Unlike last year, I won’t have these ready on the 1st of the month, but I do promise to have the patterns available within the first 15 days of each month. I will also have video tutorials to accompany each pattern where I walk you through each square. The videos will be available on my Repeat Crafter Me YOUTUBE Channel! Be sure to subscribe HERE.

Embellish to your liking! Don’t feel like you have to add all of the animal elements I provide to each square. For instance, maybe you want to leave off the scarf on the polar bear square. Or skip making the toe pads on the paws. There will be other little extra designs like that throughout the year. But also feel free to add your own flair to each square! I encourage you to make these as fun and festive as you want.

The Yarn:
I am using colors from the Red Heart Super Saver line! This is my go-to yarn because it has so many different coordinating shades. It’s a worsted weight acrylic yarn that holds up and is readily available online and in most local craft stores. It doesn’t take much yarn to make these squares. Less than half a skein and some of the colors will repeat throughout. Don’t feel like you need to purchase new yarn, feel free to use what you have in your stash! But if you do purchase some yarn, you can browse the colors of Red Heart Yarn HERE on Yarnspirations.com.

The Backside of the Squares:
The backside of your squares will be messy. But we will cover this up and make them look finished and nice. One option is to make two of each square and stitch them together with the backs facing each other. Another option is to stitch on a fleece backing to the banket in the end. I have done this before with my Reindeer Blanket (SEE IT HERE). Have another idea on how to hide the backside and all those woven ends? Let me know in the comments!

Sizing:
Each square is approximately 7×7 so the finished blanket will be more of a lap size or baby blanket size. There will be 3 squares across and 4 squares down. I plan on thick borders! It’s going to be so cute!

Alternate Animal Designs:
I don’t have plans to make more than one square for each month. I am trying to keep this project simple and manageable 🙂 BUT if all goes well, I will consider extending the project into next year and providing more squares!

I’m not trying to give too much away but I am so excited about this project and have all the animals already sketched out! I use clip art and cartoon images to design most of my cute crochet projects like this one. Happy Lunar New Year! It’s the year of the Rabbit and I have sooo many adorable crochet bunny rabbit projects that I’ve made over the years. I thought it would be fun to do a little round-up so you can easily access them all. These easy crochet bunnies are also perfect for Valentine’s Day and Easter!

Crochet Bunny from Tuna & Bones Toy DUO Crochet-Along
The bunny was born from my Tuna the Cat and Bones the Dog Crochet-Along. Just by changing up the color of yarn and leaving off the snout on Bones the dog, you can make yourself an adorable crochet bunny! Of course you will also need to create a pom-pom tail. Think of all the ways you could adjust this simple and versatile project!

Easy Crochet Bunny
Are you ready for some easy amigurumi?! This Crochet Bunny has very little sewing involved because the only pieces that need to be attached are the arms and feet (and those are optional!) The entire body and head and the two floppy ears are crocheted in one piece giving you less parts to sew together and ends to weave in. Just start from the bottom up!
