Make a crochet bat in minutes! This cute little applique is perfect for any of your halloween projects. Add it to hats, blankets, cup cozies, totes and more!

The finished bat is about 4 inches wide and will work nicely on my Halloween Haunted House C2C project. I am sure you will find lots of uses for this little guy!

Materials:
– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Black.

Bat Pattern:
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 8 SC in ring, join to first SC
Round 2: chain 2, Slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook, slip stitch to next stitch in round, chain 2 again, Slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook, slip stitch to next stitch in round (second bat ear made), chain 8 (first wing), *SC in second chain from hook, HDC in next, DC + chain 2 all in next stitch, slip stitch in next, SC, HDC, DC + chain 2 in last chain, slip stitch around until you get to the first bat ear, TURN, chain 8 (second wing) and repeat from * until second wing is made. Our peek-a-boo bunny got an upgrade! I originally created the bunny head as a cute little extra on my folded brim crochet hat, but I thought this little guy/gal would be a cute addition to many different projects. So I created a body and legs to complete this adorable rabbit!

Materials:
– Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Light Gray (or whatever color you want to make your bunny in) and a strand of baby pink for the nose and black for the eyes.

– Size H crochet hook
– Tapestry Needle

Finished Size: Approximately 7.5 x 4 (ears to bottom and foot to foot)

Head:
with light gray yarn (or whatever color you choose)
use a size H hook or size down to a smaller hook (F or G hook) for the baby hats.
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 10 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (20 SC)
Round 3: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next, repeat around, join, chain 1 (30 SC)
Round 4: SC in each stitch around, join, do not fasten off (30 SC)
now lets make the ears
Chain 10, SC in second chain from hook , SC in next, HDC in next 2, DC in next, TC (triple crochet) in remaining chains, join to the next stitch on head of bunny, do not fasten off
Chain 10, SC in second chain from hook , SC in next, HDC in next 2, DC in next, TC (triple crochet) in remaining chains, join to the next stitch on head of bunny, fasten off leaving long tail. Second ear is now made.

Stitch on the eyes and nose with a strand of yarn and your tapestry needle.

Attach all your pieces together. Don’t worry if the back is messy. This applique is meant to be stitched onto a blanket, hat, or other crochet project.

These are crochet appliqués inspired by the peanuts characters and they go perfectly with these holiday Peanuts board books: The Great Pumpkin, Be Thankful, and Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!

I put my cute little Woodstock on a brimmed hat This is just a basic DC hat with extra rounds of DC stitches at the bottom so I could flip it up for a brim. I will post a pattern for the hat soon!

So many of you liked The Great Pumpkin Pocket Pillow and requested a Christmas version! I love how one project is progressing into another. Especially since there is a “Merry Christmas Charlie Brown” Board Book that matches The Great Pumpkin Board Book! Both are available HERE on Amazon as well as a Thanksgiving themed book as well. Such a great series!

I don’t have the Charlie Brown Christmas Crochet Pocket Pillow completed but I wanted to give you the pattern for Snoopy’s Doghouse so you could get started and incorporate it into other projects as well.

Materials:
– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in colors Hot Red and Black
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle

Snoopy Doghouse Pattern:
Chain 13, SC in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down chain, chain 1, turn (12 SC)
Row 2: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next 10, 2 SC in last stitch, chain 1, turn (14 SC)
Row 3-4: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (14 SC)
Row 5: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next 12, 2 SC in last stitch, chain 1, turn (16 SC)
Row 6-8: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (16 SC)
Row 9: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next 14, 2 SC in last stitch, chain 1, turn (18 SC)
Row 10-12: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (16 SC)
Fasten off after row 12

Fasten off after Row 19 and weave in ends.

To make the black lines:
I Surface Slip Stitched the horizontal lines on the doghouse! I love how the BACKSIDE of the surface slip stitches are skinnier and look like the lines in the cartoon drawing. So make sure you pick on side to be your front side and one side to be the back. Even though you will need to fasten off your yarn at every “line” remember that one side of the applique will be hidden so it can be sloppy and messy!

For the border:
I took my tapestry needle and a long strand of black yarn and stitched around the entire edge of the doghouse! Easy and makes it really POP!

If you want to add Christmas lights, I love this role of mini craft lights. I have used them for several projects. You can actually use a dab of hot glue to set them in place.

Background:
I am playing around with a fun idea to use spike stitches to attach the doghouse to the background and make it look like grass! Right now this is in “sample” form but if you will want to start with aqua blue yarn and crochet as many rows as you’d like with that (for the pillow you will want to start with a chain of 46 and make 34 rows) and then hold your dog house upside down in the middle of the last row of your aqua blue and single crochet with green until you get to the dog house where at this point you will make spike stitches along the bottom of the doghouse and then go back to SC stitches. Continue making the rest of your pillow panel (or granny square) with rows of SC in green.

Here is a cute little crustacean for you summer stitching! This crochet lobster applique is the perfect addition to hats or blankets or tote bags. It would also pair well with the my Ocean Friends Blanket! I am providing the written pattern below and then a complete video tutorial on my Repeat Crafter Me YouTube Channel.

Materials:
– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Cherry Red. Shop HERE on Yarnspirations.com

– Cartoon Safety Eyes (optional)

Lobster Body:
Chain 10, DC in 3^rd chain from hook and rest of the way down chain, make 6 DC in last, now working on other side of chain, DC in each chain, do not fasten off.
Reach hook over to middle spot on the end of lobster and make 5 SC all in middle stitch and join, chain 1, turn, slip stitch one over and reach over to middle SC. I am having so much fun crocheting winter projects! Here I turned my Teddy Bear appliqué into a Polar Bear! The stitch count is a little different so I am posting an entirely new tutorial. I’ll be using this beary-cute guy on the front of a pillow (which I will be sure to post when it’s done.) You could use this for so many projects! I think it would be adorable on the corner of a baby blanket.

Materials:
– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in White and Light Gray. Shop these colors on Yarnspirations.com!
– Long strand of black yarn for nose and eyes
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry needle

Finished Size: Approximately 6×6 inches at widest points

Polar Bear Pattern:
with white yarn
Magic Ring, chain 2, and make 10 DC in ring, join chain 2
Round 2: 2 DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (20 DC)
Round 3: 2 DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (40 DC)
now we are going to work in rows
Row 4: chain 1, SC, HDC in next, 2 DC in next 3, HDC, SC, chain 1, turn
Row 5: SC, HDC, 2 DC in next 6, HDC, SC, chain 1, turn

What started as a “whaley” cute crochet appliqué can quickly be turned into a shark appliqué as well! And I must have good timing because I’m pretty sure it’s Shark Week! They measure about 6×5 inches although you could make them smaller by using thinner yarn and going down a hook size. As you can see the shark is a bit smaller only because the gray yarn was a bit thinner and my tension was tighter. Great project to attach to a hat, blanket, romper and more!

I’m working on a Crochet Chevron Waves Blanket (blanket pattern coming soon!) and after crocheting just a few rows of the blanket I decided that it needed some ocean friends to hang out in the water waves! I originally was going to just make a Starfish but then I was inspired to crochet a few other fish so the Jellyfish, Turtle and Seahorse joined the gang! Below are the written patterns for 4 crochet appliqués plus video tutorials for each one! I hope you enjoy these cuties and use them for many different projects! I used Bernat Super Value yarn for each of these ocean friend appliqués and I am also using Bernat super Value for the waves blanket as well. I love these pretty solid shades that coordinate so well with each other!

Starfish:
Materials:
– Bernat Super Value yarn in Pumpkin Orange (or any orange)
– Size H Crochet Hook
– 6mm Safety Eyes
– Small strand of black yarn or embroidery thread
-Tapestry needle

Finished Size = approx 6 x 6 inches

Starfish Pattern:
with Bernat Super Value in Pumpkin Orange
Magic ring, chain 1, make 10 SC in magic ring, join to first SC (10 SC)
change to color B
Round 2: Chain 1, 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next stitch, repeat around, join to first SC (15 SC)
Round 3: Chain 8, SC in second chain from hook, HDC in next 3 stitches, DC in last 3. Now you have made one of the points of the star. Skip two stitches and join with a slip stitch. Now Chain 8 and repeat process until you have all 5 points.
Round 4: SC around the edges of all 5 points. Fasten off leaving long tail
Add safety eyes and stitch on a smile!

Jellyfish:
Materials:
– Bernat Super Value yarn in Rouge
– Size H Crochet Hook
– 6mm Safety Eyes
– Small strand of black yarn or embroidery thread
-Tapestry needle

Finished Size = approx 8 x 3.25 inches

Jellyfish Pattern:
with Bernat Super Value in Rouge
Magic Ring, chain 2 and make 10 DC in ring, do not join, pull tight so you have a half circle. Chain 2, turn
Row 2: 2 DC in each stitch around (20 DC), do not turn
Work 10 SC along bottom edge of jelly fish and continue around making a SC along the half circle head of jellyfish, join
Now make jelly legs along bottom edge: Chain 20, slip stitch in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down, slip stitch to join to next stitch, slip stitch in next and chain 25, slip stitch in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down chain, slip stitch to join to next stitch, repeat making 3 more legs. I alternated between 20 and 25 chains to make the legs different lengths.

Add safety eyes and stitch on a smile with black yarn

Sea Turtle:
Materials:
– Bernat Super Value yarn in Kelly and Fern Green
– Size H Crochet Hook
– 6mm Safety Eyes
-Tapestry needle

Finished Size = approx 6 x 6 inches

– Bernat Super Value yarn in Lavender and Light Damson (dark purple)
– Size H Crochet Hook
– 6mm Safety Eye
-Tapestry needle

Seahorse Pattern:
Starting with Bernat Super Value in Lavender
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 10 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join  (20 SC)
Round 3: Chain 26, SC in second chain from hook and in next 14 chains, 

HDC in next, DC in next 2, TC in next 3, DC in next 2, HDC in next, SC in last two, skip a stitch in join with SC to next stitch, 

SC in next, chain 4, 2 HDC in second chain from hook, slip stitch in last two chains, join to next stitch with a SC, 

SC in next 4, join in dark purple yarn (Bernat Super Value in Light Damson), 

2 SC in next + chain 1, slip stitch in next, *2 SC + chain 1, slip stitch in next, (do this * 5 more times),

Add a safety eye to face.

Tulips are in bloom! Just in time for Mother’s Day and all of your Spring and Summer Crochet projects. These Tulips are super simple with only two rounds for the flower part and an easy single crochet stem. The leaves are one row as well! Stitch onto hats, blankets, and more!! I have a project in mind for these so stay tuned!

This is the perfect pattern for your Easter and Spring crochet to-do list! This Bernat Bunny Appliqué can be used for so many projects. Stitch it onto hats, Blankets, Easter baskets, and more!

-Bernat Blanket Yarn (or any yarn will work!). I am actually using Bernat Blanket “Pet” yarn which is the slightest bit thinner than the standard Bernat Blanket. Shop yarn at Yarnspirations.com.
– Size K Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle
– Small pom-pom maker (optional)
Note: I used Bernat Blanket TINY yarn in white for the pom-pom tails.

Follow this video tutorial or the pattern below!

Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 8 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (16 SC)
Round 3: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next, repeat around, join, chain 1 (24 SC)
Row 4: SC in first 4 stitches, leave remaining stitches unworked, chain 1, turn

As soon as I made the Crochet Sloth Appliqué, I knew that it could easily be re-worked into a Koala! This project is especially close to our hearts as we are all so worried about the wildfires in Australia. I will be donating the proceeds from this post to help the Koalas in Australia. Tip: add more starting chains for longer leaves and less starting chains for smaller leaves.

Stitch nose onto middle of head. Add the safety eyes on either side of nose.
Stitch ears behind head so that the head is overlapping the white part of the ear as pictured.

I am thinking of adding two extra legs to the koala before I stitch it onto the blanket… what do you think?

Sloths are slowly on the rise as the new “it” animal! So I definitely had to make a cute little crochet version of this creature! The Crochet Sloth Appliqué is about 6×7 inches and makes a great addition to many crochet projects. This particular one that I’ve made is going front and center of a baby blanket. I will post the finished blanket in a separate post this week!

I have something “beary” cute for you to crochet! An adorable Teddy Bear Crochet Appliqué! You could use this cutie for so many different projects. I am going to put these on a blanket and I promise the pattern for that will follow soon. The appliqués are made with Red Heart Super Saver Yarn and measure approximately 6 inches tall by 5 inches wide. You could make them in a variety of colors or keep them basic brown as I did.

Materials:
-Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Cafe Latte and Beige
Shop yarn at Yarnspirations.com
– Strand of Black Yarn
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle
– Scissors

I made a video tutorial that takes you step-by-step through the entire appliqué process! Written pattern and photo tutorial is below as well!

Teddy Bear Pattern:
with dark brown yarn
Magic Ring, chain 2, and make 10 DC in ring, join chain 2
Round 2: 2 DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (20 DC)
Round 3: 2 DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (40 DC)
now we are going to work in rows
Row 4: chain 1, SC, HDC in next, 2 DC in next 3, HDC, SC, chain 1, turn
Row 5: SC, HDC, 2 DC in next 6, HDC, SC, chain 1, turn
Row 6: SC HDC, 2 DC in next 12, HDC, SC, do not turn
Continue by making a slip stitch in the next stitch along bottom round of bear, SC in last and join to the other side of the “head” of the bear.
Row 7: SC in in next 5, 4 TC in next to make ear, chain 2 and join to next,  SC in next 11, 4 TC in next, chain 2 and join to next, SC in remaining stitches.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Snout:
with beige yarn
magic ring, chain 2 and making 8 DC + 4 HDC, join to first DC, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join, fasten off leaving long tail
Stitch on nose with black yarn and tapestry needle and then sew snout onto bear body.

Arms ( make 2) :
Chain 10, 2 TC in 4th chain from hook, TC in next, DC in next three, HDC in last two, fasten off

Feet (make 2) :
magic ring, chain 2, make 12 DC, join to first DC, fasten off leaving long tail.

If you aren’t going to stitch the appliqué onto anything, you could make a second body for a sturdier piece. Maybe even add a little stuffing! Lots of ways to customize this little guy!

Tis the season for apples! And back to school projects! And all those Autumn vibes! I whipped up an easy Crochet Apple Applique and then decided the apple needed an adorable bookworm beside it. You can place these on hats, totes, use as magnets, pins, bunting, and more!

I am using Red Heart Super Save Yarn! I am so excited to be adding the Red Heart line to my stash now that they have moved over to be under the Yarnspirations umbrella.

Materials:

– Cartoon Safety Eyes
– Black Hair Tie! (clever, right?!)
– Hot Glue Gun

Apple Applique:
with red yarn
Magic Ring, chain 2 and make 16 DC in ring, join to first DC, chain 2 (16 DC)
Round 2: 2 DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (32 DC)
Round 3: [2 DC in first, DC in next (repeat 5 more times)], 2 HDC in next, SC in next 2, 2 HDC in next, DC in next, [2 DC, DC (repeat 5 more times)], SC in last 3, join, fasten off.
join in brown yarn to the 3rd SC from round 3 (3 stitches back). We are going to make the stem.
Round 4: Chain 3 + DC in first SC stitch, DC in next, and then 2 DC in last stitch, fasten off and weave in ends.

Worm Head:
with green yarn
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 10 SC in ring, join to first SC, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (20 SC)

take your black hair tie and twist it into a figure eight. Use a dab of hot glue to set it in place!

Worm Body:
Chain 26, DC in 3rd chain from hook and in next 5, 3 DC in next, DC in next 8, DC Decrease over next two, DC in remaining stitches, fasten off leaving long tail.

Attach head to body.
Weave in remaining ends or use them to attach your applique to a hat, tote (etc)

I think I have to credit this project to the adorable flamingo polymer clay crochet hook I was using! The cute design inspired me to make a Crochet Flamingo Applique that I plan to attach to the corner of my spike stitch blanket! Although I am sure you guys can come up with a variety of ways to use this adorable pink bird! I am thrilled with how it turned out and can’t wait to make more. Round 2: 2 DC in first, DC in next 5, 2 DC in next 3, DC in next 5, 2 DC in last, join, chain 2 (20 DC)
Round 3: 2 DC in first 14 stitches, DC + HDC in next, SC in next 3, SC + HDC in last, join, chain 1 (35 stitches)
Round 4: skip first stitch, SC in next, HDC + DC in next, DC + chain 2 and join back to stitch with a SC, fasten off leaving rest of the round unworked.
Weave in ends
Flamingo Head/Neck
Attach magenta pink yarn 15 stitches from where you just fastened off and ended the body. So you are now working on the opposite end from the tail.
Chain 22, DC in fourth chain from hook, TC in next 2, DC in next, SC decrease 3x, SC in next 5, 2 SC in next, 2 HDC in next, 2 DC in next, DC in last two chain, join 2 stitches away from where you attached your starting chain. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Flamingo Beak:
Attach black yarn to the top end of head, chain 5, SC Decrease over first two stitches, SC in next, HDC in last, attach to bottom part of head (just one stitch over from where you began), fasten off and weave in end.
Surface slip stitch with white yarn between black beak and pink head.
Add a french knot with black yarn for the eye.
Flamingo Legs:
Straight Leg: Attach light pink yarn at the bottom of the flamingo body, chain 18, DC in fourth chain from hook + chain 2 and join back to same stitch, slip stitch the rest of the way down chain and join back to the same spot where you started at the bottom of the body.
Bent Leg: Attach light pink yarn at the bottom of the flamingo body one stitch away from straight leg, chain 24, DC in fourth chain from hook + chain 2 and join back to same stitch, Slip stitch in the next 11 stitches, 2 SC in next stitch (this makes the bend), slip stitch in remaining stitches and join back to the same spot where you started at the bottom of the body.

I can’t wait to attach this to my spike stitch blanket! I feel like it compliments the ocean blues of the background! Spike Stitch blanket pattern will be posted soon but I pretty much just used the same pattern as my spike stitch pillow pattern (HERE). Note that I tripled the starting chain.

When I set out to make a crochet llama applique, I thought it would be a quick, easy project… and don’t get me wrong, the final project is pretty easy to whip up… but the design process didn’t go as smooth as I had hoped. Each time my little llama looked more like a giraffe and my family kept telling me to try again. This was my 5th go at it and I’m pretty happy with this version! I think it would be such a cute addition to a hat or blanket!

Materials:
– Bernat Super Value Yarn in White. You will need a bit of black, cream, pink, and turquoise for the embellishments.
– Size G Crochet Hook
– Tapestry needle

Llama Applique Pattern:
Chain 11, SC in second chain from hook, HDC in next, DC in next 6, HDC in next, 4 SC in last, now working on other side of chain, SC, HDC, DC in next 6, HDC, one SC in last, join to first SC, chain 1
Round2: 3 SC all in one stitch, Slip stitch in next stitch, Chain 6, DC in 3rd chain from hook and rest of the way down chain (this makes first leg), skip 2 stitches and slip stitch to join to next stitch on llama body, SC in next stitch, slip stitch to next stitch, Chain 6, DC in 3rd chain from hook and rest of the way down chain (this makes second leg), skip 2 stitches and slip stitch to join to next stitch on llama body, 3 SC in next stitch, slip stitch in next, 3 SC in next, slip stitch, 3 SC, Slip stitch. 3 SC, slip stitch, Chain 11, TC (triple crochet) in 4th chain from hook and rest of the way down chain (this makes the neck), skip 3 stitches and slip stitch to join to next stitch, 3 SC in next, slip stitch to join and fasten off, weave in ends.

Join yarn at bottom of back of neck.
3 SC, slip stitch in next, 3 SC, slip stitch, chain 3, slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook, SC in last chain, skip a stitch, join with slip stitch to next (this makes your first ear), chain 3, slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook, SC in last chain, skip a stitch, join with slip stitch to next (this makes your second ear), Chain 2 + DC in the same stitch, DC + chain 2 in next stitch, join with slip stitch to the same place as your DC, 3 SC in next, slip stitch, 3 SC, slip stitch, 3 SC, slip stitch to join, fasten off and weave in ends.

Now it’s time to embellish!
With tapestry needle and long strand of black yarn, stitch on a little eye, mouth and and dot for a nose.
With cream yarn, slip stitch along bottom edge of legs, fasten off and weave in ends.
With pink yarn:
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 4 SC in ring, do not join, pull tight, chain 1, turn
Row 2: 2 SC in first, SC in next, 2 SC in next, one SC in last, join in turquoise yarn, chain 1, turn
Row 3: Slip stitch along edge with turqoise yarn, fasten off and weave in ends except one to stitch onto back of llama.

Here’s a quick and easy Crochet Christmas Light Applique that you can add to your holiday decor! Spruce up a crochet hat, add it to a stocking, string them around a tree or mantel, decorate your office, and more! I used these for a specific project but you will have to stay tuned to see what I am working on 🙂 I whipped up a quick video tutorial but am also including the written pattern below!

with main color
Magic ring, chain 1 and make 8 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in first 3 stitches, HDC +DC in next, DC +HDC in next, 2 SC in remaining 3 stitches,
Round 3: Join with black yarn, chain 1, SC in next 2 stitches, fasten off.
