Have you flipped through the Yarnspirations Holiday Cheer Christmas Lookbook? Well you might want to because this Crochet Gingerbread House Ornament is one of the many cute and free patterns available! I put this little project on my hook yesterday afternoon and completed it within no time at all. So cute and quick, it deserved a little blog post to show it off!

The pattern calls for Lily Sugar ‘N Cream yarn but I went ahead and used Bernat Super Value since I had the right colors already at my fingertips after completing my Crochet Gingerbread Man 🙂
You make the ornament in 3 basic parts. The bottom of the house, the roof of the house, and then the heart appliquĂ©. Very quick and simple shapes! Then you use slip stitching and scallops to create borders and french knots for the colored gumdrops! That is my favorite embellishment of the whole piece and they are really simple to make. I’m including a quick video so you can get the hang of how to make a french knot. I also suggest making a second ornament and stitching the two together back-to-back so you don’t see the mess on the backside.
