The Wreath is ready! This is square number 7 of 9 Christmas themed C2C crochet squares and when they are all finished, I will stitch them together into one large afghan! As I finish each square, I will post the graph and reveal the next character/image in the blanket. Feel free to work along with me!

I am using the corner-to-corner (C2C) technique. You can see my first C2C graphgan HERE that has a how-to video. But I am told that most people have success learning how to make a C2C afghan by following THIS VIDEO DEMONSTRATION by The Crochet Crowd.
Each pixel graph in my blanket is 25×25 pixel squares. I used a size F (3.75mm) hook and worsted weight yarn. For this particular square I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Fern Green (for the background), Kelly Green (for the wreath), Scarlett Red (for the bow), Cranberry (for the bow accents), and Mustard (for the dots). For each of these squares you will need about two skeins of the background color and possibly two of any color that makes up the main image (like white for Santa). Otherwise you will need only one skein of the other colors.
VERY IMPORTANT: Instead of the traditional C2C method of using DC’s and chain 3’s to make each pixel, I used HDC’s and only chained 2 (and chained 5 instead 6 on the increase stitches). This allowed me to have a smaller overall afghan square, measuring approximately 15×15 inches. You can absolutely use the traditional method but your square will be much larger and your overall afghan will be much larger as well once you sew them all together. As is, my finished blanket will be big enough for a twin size bed… possibly even larger!
You do not have to use the C2C method either! You can take this graph and make a standard SC graphgan. This will produce nice small squares (think 25 single crochets wide and tall) that will be perfect for a standard size blanket. You could also make Pixel Granny Squares and use the graphs I post to create separate character blankets. There is also the Bobble Stitch method as well! So many ways to use these graphs!

I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned in past comments, but the color changes posted need a small correction.
Row 18 should read: “1FG 4 KG 7FG 4 KG 2FG”
The row just needs to be reversed. Thank you SO much for sharing the color change charts, they make the progress go so much faster!
I made a comment earlier about row 18 needing a correction. I’ve finished the wreath and found two more rows with errors on the color chart. I thought I’d share to help others on this awesome project.
Each row should read:

Row 19: 2FG 4KG 8FG 3KG 2FG
Row 25: 4FG 4KG 5FG 3SR 1FG 1KG 2FG 1KG 4FG
There is an error in row 25 of the written pattern, the first 3KG should read 3SR or you end up with a green line through the middle of the ribbon.
The correction should read: Row 25 – 4FG 4KG 5FG 3SR 1FG 1CB 2SR 1KG 4FG
I’ve also missed the comments on rows 18 and 19 so my wreath is a little wonky but i’m not wripping it out again x
I missed those rows to! I did notice row 25 right away, but I’m gonna leave 18/19 as Is to. Lesson is learnt for the other squares to check out the comments! Haha ❤️

Looks to me that Rows 18/19 have been corrected but Row 25 is still wrong. 3KG should actually read 3SR. There might be a few dodgy looking bows out there if, like me, people really struggle with just using the graph.
I’m getting ready to start my first square on this blanket. I wanted to try making the wreath as my husband’s family used to own a greenhouse and make wreaths for Christmas. Just wondering how you keep all the yarn from tangling up as you are turning the square back and forth as you work. Thanks!
I firstly make my yarn into cakes using a wool winder. I find it makes them easier to handle and less likely to tangle. Then I keep the one I’m working with on my left (I’m right handed) and pass it back to the right in the order they’ve been used. Tangles are pretty much inevitable with these squares, part of the fun though! Good luck!
How can I get a print friendly version of the complete afghan?
I found an error in the written out instructions above. I believe that in line 25, the 3KG should be 3SR. It looks like others have pointed out a few errors, but the one in row 25 has not yet been corrected.
