I had the honor of helping my friend Shannon with her gender reveal party this past weekend! Shannon is pregnant with her 3rd baby, a much welcomed pregnancy after her and her husband had been trying for over a year and a half. They have two wonderful boys and would love to have a another boy, but would be equally happy with a girl as well. They thought it would be fun to host a gender reveal party and find out the sex of the baby among family and friends. I was so excited when Shannon asked me to be the “revealer.” I created a set of pink and blue crochet owl hats and diapers that would dress a stuffed animal that Shannon provided.
After her 20 week ultrasound, she delivered the sealed envelope from the doctor with the sonogram photo inside to my house. I dressed the stuffed bear in the appropriate color and wrapped it in a mystery box 🙂 This is a cardboard box I got from Michaels, decorated with question mark cut-outs from my Cricut, and tied closed with pink and blue ribbon.
You can find the FREE pattern for my Owl Granny Squares on my guest post over at Petals to Picots.
I also made her a set of 24 owl cupcake toppers which ended up being perfect for all the yummy goodies she had. You can download my FREE owl cupcake toppers HERE.
Check out all the other goodies and creative ideas Shannon came up! She is one talented lady.
She is here! Baby Greta Marie was born on 12-30-12 at 4:14pm weighing in at 7lbs 1oz and 20 inches long! Her two big brothers are taking wonderful care of her already and the entire family is over the moon in love and so excited to be a family of 5! Congrats Erickson Family! She is absolutely perfect and such a cutie!

Hi, can you please tell me where you got your Hershey chocolate bars. I can't find them anywhere. Please email me at [email protected]
I got them at Target in the candy aisle!
You could buy regular Hershey bars and use pink and blue markers to color the "he"/"she".
I had just heard of doing a gender reveal, and here is a beautiful example-how exciting! Thank-you all for sharing, (especially the Erickson family! I think you have some excited big brothers!) and thank-you for the great ideas!
