Crock Pot Apple Crisp

September 13, 2012

I was a little skeptical of this recipe as I was making it, but let me tell you, it is absolutely delicious!! This Crock Pot Apple Crisp recipe is very simple and turned out great. We had it for dessert, breakfast and then looked forward the leftovers the next night. I found this recipe over at Family Food and pretty much followed it exactly.

You can find the recipe HERE.
It calls for 8 cups sliced apples which worked out to be about 6 apples. I used green fuji apples.

After apples are sliced and placed in crock pot, mix 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup quick oats, 2 tsp cinnamon and 2/3 cup softened butter or margarine together and and put on top of the apple slices.
After 6 hours on low, VIOLA! It’s done and perfect! Well almost… vanilla ice cream is a must!

Looks great! But does the top get a little crispy? That's the best part!

Yum. Our family loves apple crisp but I never thought to make it in the crock pot.
