Here is Day 12 of my 26 Days of Crochet Animal Alphabet Appliques!
L is for Lamb
Little Lamby is soft, sweet, and sleepy. Make him in any colors you wish! Pair the appliqué with my Lamb amigurumi pattern for a cute gift! You can find the pattern HERE.
Materials:
– Worsted weight yarn. I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in white and silver gray and little bit of black for the eyes.
– Size G Crochet Hook (the bigger the hook the bigger the appliqué and vice versa)
– Tapestry needle
SC = Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
Lamb Applique Pattern:
With white
Magic ring, chain 1 and make 10 SC in ring, join to first SC, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next, repeat around, join to first SC, chain 1 (15 SC)
Round 3: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next 2, repeat around, join to first sc, chain 1 (20 SC)
Round 4: in next stitch, 3 DC + chain 1, join to next stitch with a slip stitch, chain 1, 3 DC + ch 1 in next, slip stitch in next, repeat around making 10 bumps. Slip stitch to join to bottom of first scallop bump. Fasten off leaving long tail.
Lamb Head:
Magic ring, chain 1 and make 2 SC, 2 HDC, 4 DC, 2 HDC, 2 SC, pull tight and join to first SC. Fasten off.
Magic ring, chain 1 and make 2 SC, 2 HDC, 4 DC, 2 HDC, 2 SC, pull tight and join to first SC. Fasten off.
To make the ears, join yarn to side of head. SC, chain 2, SC in last chain, join with slip stitch to same stitch you are working in..
Now do the same on other side but backwards: Join yarn chain 2 and SC in last chain, join with a SC to same stitch. Fasten off.
Now do the same on other side but backwards: Join yarn chain 2 and SC in last chain, join with a SC to same stitch. Fasten off.
Stitch on black on eyes.
Lamb Feet: make 2
Magic ring, Chain 3, DC, chain 3 and join with slip stitch to magic ring. Pull tight.
Magic ring, Chain 3, DC, chain 3 and join with slip stitch to magic ring. Pull tight.
Sew all pieces together.
Hmmm that makes a nice flower pattern too!
