V is for Viper: Crochet Viper Snake Applique

October 23, 2014

Here is Day 22 of my 26 Days of Crochet Animal Alphabet Appliques!

V is for Viper
The letter V was another tricky one. I suppose I could have done Vulture but I thought a Viper Snake would be a better fit! If you aren’t familiar with Viper Snakes you can read about them HERE. My crochet version is much more friendly and less venomous 🙂

Materials:
– Worsted weight yarn. I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in fern green, mustard yellow and scarlett red and a little black for the eyes.
– Size G Crochet Hook (the bigger the hook the bigger the appliqué and vice versa)
– Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
Magic Ring Tutorial
Sl St = Slip Stitch
SC =  Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet

Viper Snake Applique Pattern:
Magic ring, chain 1 and make 3 SC, 4 DC , 3 SC in that order in ring. Pull tight, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in first, SC in next, repeat around, join, chain 30
SC in 2nd ch from hook and in next 11 stitches, HDC in next 6, DC in next HDC in next 3, SC until end. Feel free to create your own combo of different widths or just SC down chain.

With yellow, slip stitch along bottom edge.

Tongue:

With red, join to tip of head, chain 5, slip stitch in 3rd chain from hook and last chain. Fasten off.

Make french knots for eyes.

    A good looking snake. After your alphabet is completed I will reclassify the patterns to fit with the alphabet of my language. Otherwise the kids cannot understand the alphabet. Thanks for again a great pattern.

    The actual Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller D-Blue view rolex replica sale (Deepsea D-Blue with regard to brief) is unquestionably brand new, but additionally really acquainted – the operating style along with the majority of clean points all of us rolex replica sale observe originating from "the Overhead. inch The actual call is actually brand new, the actual style is actually brand new, and also the discharge rolex replica sale technique is actually brand new. What's exactly the same may be the Deepsea view design by itself, so that as associated with at this time, this nevertheless has got the exact same "116660" research quantity of the conventional dark call Deepsea watch. We have in no way truly carried out the hands-on from the Deepsea prior to, therefore along with referring to the actual rolex replica sale brand new D-Blue version honoring Wayne Cameron, Let me talk about the actual Deepsea a little generally. This fake replica sale is actually, in a nutshell, one of the most quirky Rolex Oyster Expert wrist watches, but still extremely appealing as well as adorable.

    After row 2, coming up the ch 30, it says ” DC in next HDC” . . . I believe it’s missing a number of double crochets required. The picture looks like 4, but…. I guess this is a rather old post.
