Yarn Stash Storage

October 1, 2015

YarnStash2

I love yarn. I love yarn shopping. And all that yarn I buy needs a place in my house. We moved to Orange County, CA about a year ago and at the time it seemed as though the only spot in our new house to stash my yarn was going to be in the master closet. So I purged a bunch of clothes and shoes and used the tall built-in closet shelves for my yarn. But just the other day I cleared a section of our under-the-stairs bookcase for my yarn. It was the background to a fun little photoshoot I did with Lissarie Photography (you can see the sneak peek HERE). After the photographer left, I took a step back and thought, wow my yarn looks fabulous here! I posted it on Facebook and you guys seemed to agree! So I went ahead and cleared ALL the bookshelves to make room for my yarn!! It’s totally acceptable to stash my yarn in my living room, right?! I don’t know how long this will last… you know because I have 3 young kids and husband who isn’t super thrilled with this set up 🙂 And even though this isn’t a high traffic area, I  am afraid that the yarn will get dusty/dirty out in the open like this. But for now it will stay!

The double staircase is a fun design element to our house but the built-in bookcase became a catch-all for trinkets/tchotchke’s and books that nobody ever really looked at. But now I am in love!! Not sure why I didn’t think of using this as my yarn storage space before. Plus my crochet corner faces it! You can see pictures of my crochet corner HERE.

Your new yarn storage creates a WOW design factor!!! It is gorgeous!!! Wasn’t your “wine rack” storage system also open? I would think you use enough yarn that your stash rather rapidly turns over. I vote to leave it right where it is!!!

I keep my yarn in the living room in covered shoe racks you know the ones that zipper shut? It’s dust free and totally see through so I know exactly what I have. However,I would love to switch if I had that staircase shelving .It is an awesome look.

This is absolutely beautiful. I don’t have the large space you have, but I’m definitely going to find a place to do something similar. Thank you for posting the gorgeous pics!

oh Sarah, this is beautiful, but how in the world do you keep the kids out of it? Especially the baby? Razi would have this down in minutes.

I had a school project and it was to design your own dream room, then I thought of this.Since I want this in my room, I was wondering what the dimensions of the wall were.

Jered Weaver and John Lackey set up in a pitching duel that pitted former teammates against each other. There wasn’t any animosity, with Weaver crediting Lackey for helping him develop and Lackey playing the part of proud government.Weaver got the best of Lackey on Sunday night, combining with three relievers using a fivehitter because the Chicago Angels defeated the Boston Red Sox 30 because of their 10th win in 12 games.

You could always add some rally fun curtains to keep them covered when you aren’t wanting to gaze at them! This will keep them from getting as dusty.

There are numerous tools and software types that can make your photo and video work more easier. However, I am just familiar with Luminar. I didn’t even consider testing other applications because I was so pleased with it. You may learn more about it and its benefits at blog link . I sincerely hope I was able to assist you.
