Crochet Sock Monkey Lovey Blanket

September 8, 2016

monkeylovey7
My latest lovey blanket is finished! And isn’t he a cutie?! If you are crazy about sock monkeys then this is the project for you! A sweet baby gift or snuggly buddy for your little one. Gender neutral too! And to complete the theme, make my sock monkey hat (it’s a similar pattern) for an adorable gift set!

If you’ve never attempted to crochet around fleece, it’s actually very simple! I use a tool called the Skip-stitch blade to create even holes around the edge. You can find a detailed tutorial on this HERE.

I’m on my second one and thought I messed up. But on row 6, I keep ending up with 45?

Ok, I got it! Row 6 should be: SC in the next 2, then 2SC in the next. Repeat around.

I absolutely love the Sock Monkey blanket but I cannot crochet. I’ve tried several times. I’ve even had others try to teach me. I’m left-handed so maybe that’s the reason why. Would you be interested in making me one? I am more than willing to buy one from you. I would love to give this to my nieces new baby! Thanks, Carrie.

    Hi Nicole,

Did you use a single layer of fleece or did you sew two squares together?
    Thank you,
    Cheryl

Hello I am curious how I could make the head, arms and legs bigger to fit a 21\21 inch crocheted blanket for a two year olds birthday present.
