Crochet Wise Old Owl with Graduation Cap

May 13, 2017

WiseOwl_Tweeds

When I got my hands on the new Caron Simply Soft Tweeds yarn I knew exactly what I wanted to crochet… an owl! You may remember the tweeds yarn is also perfect for my crochet owl hats pattern as well. And with graduation right around the corner I thought a Wise Old Owl with a Graduation Cap would be the perfect little gift for the grads in your life! My middle child is graduating from Kindergarten and I am just so darn proud of the progress he has made this year so this owl is for him!

Finished size: Approx. 7 inches tall by 4 inches wide.

Materials:
– Caron Simply Soft Tweeds in Taupe and Off White. GET IT HERE at Yarnspirations.com
– Caron Simply Soft in Gold and Black
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Polyfil Fiber Stuffing
– 12mm black safety eyes
– Tapestry Needle

    Hi Sarah,
I would like to know if is possible to make a larger version of this wise old owl with graduation cap.

    Finishing size:
➖ Approximately from 14 to 17 inches tall.
➖ I would take a suggestion from your expertise for the width.

I would love to make one for my nephew as he love owls a lot.
Thank you so much for spending time to create beautiful patterns.
    Jenny

    Hi Sarah,
Thanks for the lovely pattern. I’m making one at the moment!
Could it be that in round 24 from the body, I have to decrease and than make 2 sc (and not one)? So it will be 15 stitches at the end of the body?

Thanks again for all the beautiful patterns!

Hello. I just found your graduation owl, and absolutely love it. I’m a beginner crocheter. I do not understand how to even begin this project everything I have been making so far, begins with the magic circle. Can I just do a magic circle of 10, (and go on from there) without the chain and slip stitch method?
