Here I am with more holiday crochet! I was actually working on a different pattern that sparked this idea for extra-large Crochet Christmas Lights! They basically are the size of your hand when crocheted with worsted weight yarn but once I get my hands on some Bernat Blanket yarn (I’m currently all out!), I will make some that are even bigger and more plush!
Materials:
– Bernat Super Value Yarn (or go chunky with Bernat Blanket Yarn or Bernat Softee Chunky!). I used colors pumpkin, bright yellow, lush green, berry red, and peacock blue.
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Poly-fil Fiber Stuffing
– Tapestry Needle
XL Christmas Lights Pattern:
with color yarn (starting at the tip of the light bulb)
Magic ring, make 6 SC in ring, join to first SC, chain 1
Rd 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (12 SC)
Rd 3: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (12 SC)
Rd 4: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next 2, repeat around, join, chain 1 (16 SC)
Rd 5: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (16 SC)
Rd 6: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next 3, repeat around, join, chain 1 (20 SC)
Rd 7: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (20 SC)
Rd 8: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next 4, repeat around, join, chain 1 (24 SC)
Rd 9: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next 5, repeat around, join, chain 1 (28 SC)
Rd 10-13: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (28 SC)
Rd 14: SC Decrease, SC in next 2 stitches, repeat around, join, chain 1
Rd 15: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1, join, chain 1
Rd 16: SC Decrease, SC in next, repeat around, join, chain 1
Rd 17-18: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (14 SC)
stuff with poly-fil and then join in black yarn
Rd 19: SC Decrease, SC in next, repeat around, join, chain 1
Round 20-21: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Fasten off and stitch closed with tapestry needle.
Make a little loop on top if you want to string them up!
Optional: Add a fun little face with safety eyes before you sew shut!
Light and Love this Holiday Season!

Where’s the pictures?
Awesome!! Would like them a little smaller but big is good, lol. Thank you!!
I think if you use a DK yarn and a smaller (say E or F) hook, they will be just the right size for a garland. That’s what I’m going to try. If it works out, I will post a picture. 🙂
Peggy
Yes! I did use the DK and a C hook.
Yes, where are the pictures?
I didn’t get any pictures either.
Hi. I nominated you for a Blogger Recognition Award. While I’m sure you don’t need any more exposure from a little tiny blog like mine, I still think what you do is awesome and thought it deserves a little more love.

Thanks for so many amazing patterns, they have certainly helped me not go completely bananas!
I love this!
What a great idea! I can’t wait to crochet these Christmas lights and hang it in the kid’s room.
