Crochet Pumpkin Bear

August 7, 2020

I took two of my favorite patterns from Yarnspirations.com and created this Pumpkin Bear! A super cute seasonal project that you can make easily in one day. I started with the Valentine Bear pattern and created all the pieces except for the body. Then I took the Caron Harvest Pumpkin pattern and made the medium size pumpkin (although if I were to do it over again I think I would use the small size) and used it for the bear body. Easy and cute! I did stuff all the pieces pretty heavily so my pumpkin bear is on the larger side, measuring approximately 10 x 10 inches.

I’m using Red Heart Super Saver Yarn for this project in colors Carrot and Cafe Latte. I am also using a size H crochet hook. The patterns call for different yarn (Bernat Velvet & Caron Simply Soft) so I would recommend picking one type of yarn (preferably worsted weight) to crochet your bear with.

Get the Valentine Bear Pattern HERE on Yarnspirations.com. It’s a FREE pattern PDF!

One of my favorite things to do is to repurpose patterns and this is a great example of something you can make with free existing patterns! Hope you like the Pumpkin Bear! Let me know if you make it by tagging me on social media @RepeatCrafterMe or #RepeatCrafterMe

I love your pumpkin bear. It looks so cute. I made the valentine bear and like it but am having trouble with the head flopping forward. Is there a trick to make this not happen? I felt the pattern was not clear exactly how to join the arms and head.

Cannot find the free pattern for the Crochet Pumpkin Bear. I am looking for projects to keep me busy through the winter months and thought your pumpkin bear would be a fun undertaking and nice gift for a neighbor who will have a baby. Please let me know where to find the free pattern. Thank you!!
