Crochet Toast

January 25, 2021

Who’s ready for a calorie-free breakfast?! I’ve got crochet toast on my hook! And you can top your toast with anything you’d like! Maybe some peanut butter, jelly, or a dab of butter? Use these as play food, coasters, hot pads, or even stitch two together and stuff with poly-fil for a cute little plushie!

Materials:
– Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Buff (light brown) and Cafe Latte (dark brown) work well for the toast colors! Shop yarn HERE on Yarnspirations.com
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle

Crochet Toast Pattern:
Starting with light brown yarn
Chain 13, SC in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down chain, chain 1, turn (12 SC)
Row 2-14: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (12 SC)
Row 15: Skip two stitches and make 6 DC in the next stitch, skip two stitches and join with a slip stitch, slip stitch in next, skip two stitches and make 6 DC in next, skip remaining stitches and join to the last stitch.
Border Round: join in dark brown yarn, SC evenly around toast, join, fasten off and weave in ends.
Note: it helps to make slip stitches in the dent at top of bread and make two SC in the bottom two corners of the bread.

Add some peanut butter or jelly!
with light brown or purple yarn
Chain 9, SC in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down chain, chain 1, turn (8 SC)
Row 2-8: SC in each stitch across, chain 2, turn (8 SC)
Row 9: Skip a stitch and make 4 DC in next, skip a stitch and join with slip stitch, skip a stitch and make 4 DC in next, join to very last stitch, fasten off and weave in ends.
Add some safety eyes and a smile before you stitch your peanut butter or jelly onto the front of the toast!

We go together like peanut butter and jelly!
This would make a great valentine.

Add a square of butter!
with yellow yarn
Chain 5, SC in second chain from hook and rest of the way down chain, chain 1, turn (4 SC)
Row 2-4: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn
Fasten off after row 4 and weave in ends or stitch butter onto toast!

UPDATE:
I stitched the peanut butter and jelly toast together, stuffed it with a little bit of poly-fil and added arms holding hearts. This makes a super sweet little Valentine! Maybe with the addition of the message “We go together like peanut butter and jelly”

Find the arms and heart pattern HERE from my Earth Cuddle Buddy.

This is the most wonderful crochet adventure I’ve ever seen. Believe it. Easy to serve to my grandchildren and even adults. I’d like my toast with butter, jelly, peanut butter and melted marshmallows. How’s that???

Enamel pins are very popular among the knit and crochet community because they are fun to attach to canvas project tote bags.

This is absolutely adorable! Do you have any tips on how I could turn this into a throw blanket? I’d love to make one for my mother in law’s birthday (our kids would always request toast at sleepovers before the pandemic).

I before long wrap up unequivocally contributing a huge load of energy both evaluating and leaving remarks. Regardless, so what, it was as of now kept up with, paying little mind to any trouble!
