It’s Girl Scout Cookie Season! Zoe is now a Brownie and is so excited to be selling cookies this year! When we were shopping at Michaels Stores the other day we came across some Bernat Velvet Plus yarn on clearance and got the idea to make a Caramel deLite (AKA Samoas) Crochet Cookie! The burnt orange color is honestly the PERFECT match to the toasted coconut and carmel that is on the real edible cookie. This crochet version works up similar to a crochet donut pattern but you will stuff it lightly. All the Girl Scouts will want a Caramel deLite plushie! I’ve had so many requests for these and plan on making one for all the girls in our troop. They work up quickly and I will have a video tutorial posted soon as well.

Materials:
-Bernat Velvet Plus Yarn in Burnt Orange (Toasted Chocolate color would also work!). Get the yarn HERE at Michaels.
– Bernat Blanket Yarn in Taupe Brown. Shop yarn HERE at Yarnspirations.com
– Size K Crochet Hook
– Large Tapestry Needle
-Poly-fil Fiber Stuffing
– Fabric Glue or Hot Glue

Round 11: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (39 SC)
Round 12: SC Decrease, SC in next, repeat around, (end with a SC in last stitch) join, chain 1
Round 13: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 14: SC Decrease, SC in next, repeat around, join, fasten off leaving long tail
Stuff lightly and stitch the inner circle together with tapestry needle and blanket yarn tail.
Use a long strand of brown and your tapestry needle to make chocolate stripes! Glue down stripes (if loose) with fabric glue or a dab or two of hot glue.

I know the stitches can be a little hard to see with this plush yarn.
TIPS: Crocheting loosely so you can feel for your stitches. Counting the stitches in the rounds is the best way to make sure you have the right amount of stitches (it’s ok if you miss one or have one too many as long as you have a nice circle!). You could also hold a strand of worsted weight yarn along with the velvet yarn so you can see your stitches better.

VIDEO TUTORIAL COMING SOON!

THIS is her link to purchase and you must select Direct Ship Order. Unfortunately shipping is a little pricey but it’s the safest way to distribute this year because of Covid pandemic protocols.

I LOVE this! It works either way, but just want to confirm- is there really no join at the end of row 1? Thanks for a super fun pattern.
Also should the stitch count be 42 at the end of row 4? It alters the count for the remaining rows too.
Gosh!! That so looks like the real thing!! thanks for sharing 🙂 keep well Amanda x
