You can make several sets of sweet little baby booties and mittens with on skein of the new soft and cozy Bernat Forever Fleece Finer yarn. I have designed 3 different sizes of mittens that won’t take you long to workup.
When I say they don’t take long to crochet, they really don’t! 5 minutes for the tiny size (3×2 inches), 10 minutes for the slightly bigger mitts (4×3 inches), and 20 minutes for the mittens with the thumbholes attached (5×4 inches)! All are for babies Newborn – 1 year old (maybe 1-2years for the thumbhole mittens).
5 Minute Mittens:
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 10 sc in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in first, SC in next, repeat around, join chain 1
Round 3-8: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (15 SC)
Round 9: SC Decrease, SC in next, repeat around, join, chain 1
Round 10: in back loop only DC in each stich around.
Fasten off and weave in ends
10 Minute Mittens:
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 10 sc in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join chain 1
Round 3-9: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (15 SC)
Round 10: SC Decrease, SC in next 2, repeat around, join, chain 1
Round 11-12: SC in each stich around, join, chain 1
Round 13: in back loop only DC in each stich around.
Fasten off and weave in ends
20 minute Mittens:
Magic ring, chain 1 and make 10 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 3-9: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (20 SC)
round 10: SC in first 8, chain 4 and skip 4 stitches, SC in last 8, join, chain 1
Round 11: SC in each stitch around including 4 chains, join, chain 1
Round 12: SC Decrase, SC in next 2, repeat around, join, chain 1
Round 13: SC in each stitch around, join, (15 SC)
Ribbing: chain 5, SC in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down chain, Slip stitch in next two stitches along mitten edge, turn, SC in back loop along ribbing, chain 1, turn, repeat
slip stitch ribbing together and weave in ends.
Thumb:
Magic ring, chain 1 and make 8 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2-4: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Fasten off and stitch onto hole in mitten.
You can’t have mittens without matching booties! Here is a bonus pattern!
Bonus Baby Booties Pattern:
Chain 10, SC in 2nd chain from hook, SC in next 7, make 5 SC in the last chain
Now working on opposite side, SC 9, join, ch 1
Round 2: HDC, 2 HDC, HDC in next 6, 2 HDC in next 2, HDC in next 2, 2 HDC in next 2, HDC in next 6, 2 HDC, 3 HDC in last, join, ch 1.
Round 3: SC 12, 2 HDC in next 4, SC in next 14, join, ch 1.
Round 4: In back loops only, SC around, join, ch 1. (32 SC)
Round 5-6: Now working in both loops, SC around, join, ch 1. (32 SC)
Round 7: SC in first 12, [SC decrease, SC in next ] 4 times, SC in last 12, join, ch 1.
Round 8: SC in first 10, [SC decrease, SC in next] 4 times], SC in last 10, join, ch 1.
Round 9: SC in first 8, [SC decrease, SC in next] 4 times, Sc in last 8, join, ch 1
Round 10: SC in first 6, [SC decrease, SC in next] 4 times, SC in last 6, join, ch 1.
Round 11: DC in each stitch around, join
Fasten off and weave in ends.

I may be counting wrong but on the booties, I count 34 stitches for Row 3 and then Row 4 is single chain around but has (32). Can you help?
