We’ve been talking a lot about hippos on my social media pages. After I posted the Hippo Crochet Square from my Animal Square CAL, many of you started asking if I had any hippo amigurumi patterns. YES! I have two great ones for you!

Doesn’t this duo remind you of Fritz and Fiona from the Cincinnati Zoo?!

I just finished crocheting this adorable little guy from a pattern called “Red Heart I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.” This is a completely FREE pattern that you can get HERE on Yarnspirations.com. It’s featured in a turquoise color with a tiny Santa hat and candy cane but I made mine a bit more neutral using Red Heart Super Saver in Dusty Gray and Baby Pink.

And of course we have one of my favorite Hippos! This is Henrietta the Hippo from my book Crochet Cute Critters! You can find the pattern for this pretty purple gal on page 55.
Purchase Crochet Cute Critters HERE if you don’t already have it in your library!

If you missed my post earlier this week, HERE is the Hippo Crochet Square! This is square number six in the Animal Square Crochet-Along that will feature 12 months of different animal squares to make a blanket by December!

I also have a Hippo Hat! This is one of my classic crochet hat patterns that I posted many many years ago. Look how little my daughter Zoe is!
