I spotted a super cute Bernat Blanket Bunny pattern on Yarnspirations.com! It’s part of their new series of beginner friendly crochet lessons so it’s guaranteed to be easy with lots of diagrams and pictures to walk you through each step.

I love the the bright colors of Bernat Blanket Yarn that the rabbit is featured in, but did you realize that Christmas is only 13 weeks away?! I’m already starting to feel that holiday spirit and since I have a ton of green Bernat Blanket Yarn in my stash, I decided to make a Christmas Bunny!

I used Bernat Blanket Yarn in colors Deep Sea Green and Crimson Red.

The patterns for the accessories (scarf and hat) are below:
Scarf:
with red bernat blanket yarn
chain 6, SC in second chain from and rest of chains, chain 1, turn
Row 2-54: SC in each stitch across (5 SC)
fasten off
Tie strands yarn around stitches on both ends to create fringe
Santa Hat:
With red bernat blanket yarn
Magic Ring, chain 2 and make 6 DC in ring, pull tight, join, chain 2
Round 2: 2 DC in first stitch, DC in next, repeat around, join, chain 2 (9 DC)
Round 3: DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (9 DC)
Round 4: 2 DC in first stitch, DC in next 2, repeat around, join, chain 2
Round 5: DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (12 DC)
Round 6: 2 DC in first stitch, DC in next 3, repeat around, join, chain 2
Round 7: DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (15 DC)
Round 8: 2 DC in first stitch, DC in next 4, repeat around, join, chain 2
Round 9: DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (18 DC)
Round 10: 2 DC in first stitch, DC in next 5, repeat around, join, chain 2
Round 11: DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (21 DC)
Round 12: 2 DC in first, DC in next, repeat around, (28 DC)
Join in white yarn
Round 13: SC in first 12 stitches, chain 5 and skip 5 stitches (this makes the hole for the ear to go through), join to next stitch and SC the rest of the way around.
Round 14-15: SC in each stitch around (including chain 5 space), join,
fasten off after round 15 and weave in ends.
Santa Hat Pom-Pom:
with white yarn
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 6 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in first, SC in next, repeat around, join, chain 1
Round 3: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 4: SC Decrease until closed.
Fasten off leaving tail to sew pom-pom onto tip of hat.
The bunny rabbit looks adorable without the hat and just the scarf as well!
