If you are looking for a repetitive and easy crochet project that will last you into the new year, this Winter Granny Stitch Blanket is perfect! I’m using the “Red Heart Crochet Christmas at Granny’s Blanket” pattern from Yarnspirations.com. Instead of using the red and green Christmas colors, I grabbed a few shades of beautiful blues from the Red Heart with Love line to make it winter themed!

I am using Red Heart with Love in colors:
Bluebell (3 balls) to replace the spring green
Iced Aqua (1 ball) to replace the red
Peacock (1 ball) to replace the dark green
Eggshell (2 Balls) to replace the white

The pattern comes with a graph and pictures along with the written pattern so once you get going, you can refer to either the graph or picture to count your rows and color changes.
NOTE: I started with 9 rows of bluebell. The graph shows it starting with only 4 rows but I counted the rows in the picture and there are 9.

My blanket is still a work in progress but I wanted to share all the details with you in case you want to get started on this simple granny stitch project. It’s a great blanket to work on while you are binge watching shows or holiday movies. Or if you are hanging around the house with the kids for winter break. Or if you are snowed in or headed to the mountains for a ski trip!

I’ve been able to carry this around the house as I spend time with family, watching football and holiday movies. The perfect mindless crochet project with no stitch counting! I even ordered pink and red yarn colors to start on a valentine version!
