Flower Fields Crochet Blanket

April 14, 2025

This blanket is truly so simple and clever! I got the inspiration from the Daisy Delight Dishcloth pattern on Yarnspirations. I used the graph that came with the free dishcloth download, doubled the stitch count, and crocheted rows of single crochet stitches. When turned sideways, these rows of green become the stems. Attach crocheted flowers to the top of the stems and you have a Flower Fields Crochet Blanket!

>>> Daisy Delight Dishcloth<<<

I added a simple thick border to the edge and the finished size is approximately 32 x30 inches. Perfect for a baby blanket!

I’m using Bernat Super Value in colors Soft Fern (discontinued), Kelly Green, and Forest Green. You can easily use the color Lush to replace the discontinued Fern. I also chose White for the background and border but you can feel free to choose whatever colors you’d like! I think a light blue would be pretty as well.

To save you time from having to calculate, I have created an updated graph where I have doubled the stitch count for you. I am also including a PDF of the written pattern and the color blocks pattern if you prefer to follow the patten that way.

>>> Flower Fields GRAPH <<<
>>> Flower Fields WRITTEN PATTERN <<<
>>> Flower Fields COLOR BLOCK PATTERN <<<

Materials:
– Bernat Super Value in colors Kelly Green, Lush Green, Forest Green, and White.
>>> Shope Bernat Super Value Yarn HERE on Yarnspirations.com <<<
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle

To make this blanket you will work from the bottom up. Start with white yarn and make a chain of 83, SC in the second chain from hook and the rest of the way down the chain for a stitch count of 82. This is your first row at the bottom of the blanket. Follow the graph working back and forth in rows until you get to the top! I didn’t carry my yarn but you could. I clipped off the strand of green when I was done and picked it back up when needed for the next row. Each box in the graph is equal to one single crochet stitch.

The flowers take just minutes to make! You will need 16 flowers for each side of the blanket. I used Bernat Super Value yarn in colors Peony Pink, Baby Pink, Cool Blue, and Lavender + Yellow for the flower centers. You can use whatever bits of yarn and colors you have in your stash.

You can find the >>> SIMPLE SPRING CROCHETED FLOWER PATTERN HERE <<< It’s one of my older patterns but it’s a goodie!

Using your tapestry needle, stitch flowers on the top of the stems.

The border is one of my go-to techniques taught by my friend Tiffany over at Daisy Farm Crafts. I love using her Single Crochet in the Back Loop Ribbed Border for so many of projects. You can find this technique on her YouTube page. It’s a wonderful tutorial that is very well explained!
Note: I made one round of SC stitches around the entire blanket before starting on the border.

I hope this blooming blanket brings you lots of Spring crochet inspiration and motivation! Let me know if you make one by tagging me @RepeatCrafterMe on social media.

    This is such a cool idea! Doubling the stitch count from the dishcloth pattern to create the stems is genius. I love how customizable the colors are. Have you tried making other patterns from Yarnspirations? What other color combos do you think would look great for this blanket?

    This is such a beautifully creative project—turning a dishcloth graph into a blooming blanket is genius! I love how detailed yet easy-to-follow your instructions are. Quick question: have you tried this pattern with variegated yarn for the flowers to add extra texture or color variation?
