Chicken Crochet Square

March 18, 2026

I love how these chicken crochet squares have so much personality! It almost looks like they went “splat” right onto the square.

Each one can look a little different depending on how you style the eyes and position the pieces. You can leave the wings, legs, and even the head slightly floppy for a fun, whimsical look… or stitch them down for a more polished finish.

Pro tip: Stitching the head down is a great way to hide the backs of safety eyes or any stitching from the beak, but I personally love the movable parts!

Materials:
– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Saffron Yellow, Aran, Cherry Red, and Carrot. Café Latte, Spring Green, or Turqua Blue would also be fun colors for the background of the square.
Be sure to shop Yarnspirations BIG MARCH SALE while the yarn is 40% off!
Head over to the >>> Yarnspirations Sale <<<
– Size H Crochet Hook
– 8mm safety eyes or strand of black yarn to embroider the eyes
– Tapestry Needle

Finished Size: Approximately 8×8 inches.
Feel free to continue crocheting after round 6 to make square bigger!

Curious about what safety eyes I use? I wrote them all down >>> HERE IN MY FAVORITE SAFETY EYES BLOG POST <<<

Stitch onto bottom of chicken.

Finishing touches: Leave pieces floppy for a playful look or stitch down wings, feet, and head for a flatter square. Adjust eye placement to give your chicken personality (sleepy, surprised, silly!)

This square is such a fun addition to any blanket, especially for farm themes, spring projects, or just a little humor mixed into your crochet.

And honestly… I think we all need a little “splat chicken” energy in our lives

I also appreciate how flexible the pattern is. I can already imagine changing the eye placement a bit to give each chicken its own expression, which makes the whole project feel even more fun and personal. The instructions are clear, the finished square is super cute, and I think this would look amazing in a farm-themed blanket or a cheerful spring crochet project.

These chicken crochet squares are absolutely adorable! I love how much personality they have, especially with that fun “splat” look. Speaking of tackling projects, big or small, having the right tools is key. If you’re ever planning home improvements, a good roofing calculator can really help with material lists!

These chicken squares are so charming! The way each one has its own personality reminds me of pixel art character design – where small changes in positioning make each sprite unique. I love how crochet and digital art share that same grid-based creative approach. Definitely saving this pattern!

When I first started looking into Arteris Plus, my sole focus was on my blood pressure. I had been dealing with creeping numbers for years, and my doctor warned me that if I didn’t get things under control, I’d be looking at increased medication. I wanted to find a natural blood pressure support supplement that could help me avoid that path. What I didn’t expect was that this product would impact my health in ways I hadn’t even anticipated.

I did my due diligence before purchasing. I read countless Arteris Plus reviews, researched the Arteris Plus ingredients and benefits, and made sure to address any Arteris Plus scam or legit concerns I had. Satisfied that the product was legitimate, I decided to buy Arteris Plus directly from the Arteris Plus official website. I took advantage of an Arteris Plus discount for a three-month supply, which made the investment more manageable.

I followed the instructions on how to use Arteris Plus supplement carefully—two capsules daily with my morning meal. Within the first two weeks, I noticed my energy levels were more consistent. I wasn’t crashing in the afternoons anymore. By the end of the first month, my blood pressure readings had improved significantly. But the surprises didn’t stop there. I realized that my chronic brain fog had lifted. I was sleeping better at night. My mood felt more stable. Even my skin looked healthier.

It dawned on me that this support healthy arteries supplement was improving my overall circulation and cardiovascular function, which in turn was benefiting my entire body. When you improve blood circulation naturally, every system benefits—from your brain to your extremities. I had been so focused on the numbers that I didn’t realize how much my overall vitality had been suffering. This natural supplement for blood circulation Arteris provides has given me back a quality of life I thought I had lost to aging.

I’ve since become an advocate for this product, sharing my experience in Arteris Plus customer reviews wherever I can. It turned out to be so much more than just a blood pressure supplement for me—it became a cornerstone of my overall health journey.
