Q is for Queen Bee: Crochet Queen Bee Applique

Q is for Queen Bee
This was another tricky letter since my Q options were pretty limited… I think Quail and Quetzal were my other choices. I thought Queen Bee would be the cutest of the bunch and fit well with my other Alphabet Animals! I hope you think so too.

Materials:
– Worsted weight yarn. I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in mustard yellow and black, and a little pink for the crown.
– Size G Crochet Hook (the bigger the hook the bigger the appliqué and vice versa)
– Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
Sl St = Slip Stitch
SC =  Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet

Queen Bee Applique Pattern:
With yellow
Chain 5, SC in 2nd chain from hook and in remaining 3 chains, chain 1, turn
Row 2: 2 SC in first stitch, SC in next 2, 2 SC in last, (6 SC)
Change to black, ch 1, turn
Row 3: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (6 SC)
Row 4: 2 SC in first, SC in next 4, 2 SC in last, (8 SC)
Change to yellow, chain 1, turn
Row 5: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (8 SC)
Row 6: 2 SC in first, SC in next 6, 2 SC in last (10 SC)
Change to black, chain 1, turn
Row 7-8: SC in each stitch across (10 SC)
change to yellow
Row 9: SC in each stitch across
Row 10: SC Decrease, SC in next 6, SC Decrease
Row 11: SC in each stitch across (8 SC)
Row 12: SC Decrease, SC in next 4, SC Decrease
Row 13: SC in each stitch across (6 SC)
Sc around outer edge: yellow around head and switch to black around body. When you get to the back, chain 6, slip stitch in first, sc in next, HDC in next, DC in last two, connect to other side of back edge and continue to SC around edge.

Bee Wings:
I followed THIS PATTERN for Crochet Raindrops by Fiber Flux. Turned them upside down and they made perfect bee wings!

Crown: 
Join pink yarn, chain 3, slip stitch in 2nd ch from hook, SC in next, join to same stitch, chain 2, slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook, slip stitch to join in same stitch. Slip stitch along bottom to create a flat bottom to crown (optional). Fasten off and weave in ends.

Stitch on eye and mouth with black yarn and tapestry needle.

  5. Hey, I wasn’t looking for anything specific, but I saw this casino mentioned and decided to give it a shot. I signed up through https://duospin.ca and tried Big Bass Bonanza, though the early rounds were mostly losses and felt a bit frustrating. I kept playing, adjusted my approach slightly, and eventually hit a bonus feature with a solid payout. That turnaround made it enjoyable enough for me to revisit later.
