Another Chaos Blanket is complete!I’m convinced that just about ANY yarn looks good with the granny stitch, and this latest blanket is proof!
After finishing my Holly Jolly Christmas Chaos Blanket, I couldn’t resist trying the same pattern with a different yarn. This time I used Red Heart All-in-One Granny Square Petite in the color Flip Side, and the result is this beautiful mix of icy blues, aqua, and deep navy!

I’m calling it the Winter Wonderland Crochet Chaos Blanket!
The best part? It’s the exact same pattern and size as my Christmas Chaos Blanket! The only difference is the yarn.

Traditionally, a Chaos Blanket is made by randomly choosing different yarn colors and stitches for each row. The idea is to throw out the rules and let the chaos unfold! My version takes a slightly different approach. I’m sticking with the same easy granny stitch throughout and letting the self-striping yarn do all the color changing. You still get that fun, unpredictable, chaotic look without having to switch yarns or plan out colors. A little less work, but just as much chaos!
For my original Christmas Chaos Blanket, I used Red Heart All-in-One Granny Square yarn in Holly Jolly Quilt Motif.
For this winter version, I switched to the Petite version of the yarn, which has shorter color sections. That means the colors change more frequently as you crochet, creating these fun little pops of blue throughout the granny stitch rows.
No planning out color changes, no switching yarns, and no weaving in a million extra ends. Just keep crocheting and let the yarn do its thing!
I love how the blues give this blanket a winter wonderland feel. It’s perfect for the winter months, Hanukkah, or anyone who loves a good blue color palette!
