Crochet Football Cuddle Buddy

Pre-Season Football has started!! Woohoo! This is my favorite time of year because not long from now we will have Fall, Football, Pumpkin Spice, and the best months for crocheting! You guys may know by now that we are huge Seattle Seahawks fans and we will be fully engrossed in football very soon 🙂 So to kick off the season, here is a fun Crochet Football Cuddle Buddy!

Materials:
– Bernat Super Value Yarn in Taupe brown. Plus a bit of White and Black for the stitches and smile. You can purchase this color HERE at Yarnspirations.com.
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Poly-fil Fiber Stuffing
– Comic Safety Eyes. You can purchase these HERE on Amazon (aff).
– Tapestry Needle

Football Shape (Make 2):
with brown yarn
Chain 3, SC in second chain from hook and last chain, chain 1, turn
Row 2: 2 SC in each stitch, chain 1, turn (4 SC)
Row 3: 2 SC in first, SC in next 2, 2 SC in last, chain 1, turn
Row 4: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (6 SC)
Row 5: 2 SC in first, SC in next 4, 2 SC in last, chain 1, turn
Row 6: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (8 SC)
Row 7: 2 SC in first, SC in next 6, 2 SC in last, chain 1, turn
Row 8: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (10 SC)
Row 9: 2 SC in first, SC in next 8, 2 SC in last, chain 1, turn
Row 10: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (12 SC)
Row 11: 2 SC in first, SC in next 10, 2 SC in last, chain 1, turn
Row 12: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (14 SC)
Row 13: 2 SC in first, SC in next 12, SC in last, chain 1, turn
Row 14-21: SC in each across, chain 1, turn (16 SC)
Row 22: SC decrease over first two, SC in next 12, SC decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 23: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (14 SC)
Row 24: SC decrease over first two, SC in next 10, SC decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 25: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (12 SC)
R0w 26: SC decrease over first two, SC in next 8, SC decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 27: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (10 SC)
Row 28: SC decrease over first two, SC in next 6, SC decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 29: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (8 SC)
Row 30: SC decrease over first two, SC in next 4, SC decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 31: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (6 SC)
Row 32: SC decrease over first two, SC in next 2, SC decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 33: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (4 SC)
Row 34: SC decrease two times, continue to SC around entire edge of football shape.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Create white lace stitches over one of the pieces. Add safety eyes and stitch on a smile with black yarn.

Place both football shapes together and stitch together. You can either use your tapestry needle and long strand of brown yarn, working under the tops of the SC stitches, or you can take your hook and SC or slip stitch the edges together. Be sure to stuff with poly-fil before completely sewing shut.
