Sheep Cupcakes

April 17, 2013

I will admit it, I am having a little obsession with sheeps/lambs right now 🙂 I think this might be the theme I go with for the new baby nursery… we will see…. I might change my mind in the next 20 weeks. Anyway, as I was researching crochet lamb hats, I came across a ton of other cute lamb crafts and projects, including sheep cupcakes! They were so cute I had to go ahead a make a batch of them.

You only need a couple of ingredients:

-Box of white cake mix
-Mini marshmallows
-Tootsie rolls
-White (vanilla) icing
–Candy Eyeballs

Directions:
1. Bake cupcakes according to directions on the box.
2. While cupcakes are baking, make your sheep heads with the tootsie rolls. You will want to heat them in the microwave for about 15 seconds so they are slightly soft and easy to mold. I used one tootsie roll for the head, and a little bits of tootsie roll molded into ears and stuck on while still soft. Use a dab of frosting to stick the candy eyes on and use a toothpick to poke two holes for the nostrils.

3. When cupcakes are cooled, ice them with vanilla frosting. Stick the head on first. Then cover the rest with the mini marshmallows.

4. Eat and Enjoy!
