Crochet Black Cat Hat

September 4, 2014

Here is the purrrfect cat hat for Halloween! Or if you just happen to like black cats…. or any cats for that matter since this hat could be made in any color! I used to have a black cat named Romeo. He was my baby before I had my babies.

Taking over the computer.
Not so amused with his Halloween costume that year.

Little Miss is so squirmy and on the move these days that it’s hard to get a picture of her modeling my crochet hats! The picture is a little fuzzy but still cute 🙂

I am a new crochet-er and I recently made your minion hat. It was so easy to follow your pattern, and the hat turned out really great! Thank you so much for sharing your patterns with all of us.

I want to make this hat for my daughter (she loved the minion hat, but it was for my aunt). I noticed the pattern is a little different – I loved the shape of the minion hat so can you tell me what the difference is? The last one worked so well, I want to just trust the pattern, but I thought I would at least ask. My daughter is super picky about how hats fit and she did love the feel of the minion one. Thanks so much!

Hi I crochet your cat hat in the preschool size, I would consider myself a tight crocheter but this hat turned out huge. I counted my stitches and they are correct. Has anyone had this problem?

I was wondering about how much yarn is needed for the base 0-3 month hat or the 3-6 month hat. I have about 20 grams of a worsted weight left over from another project and am wondering if it will be enough?

Hi! Do you have a tutorial video for the earflaps? I’m kind of a beginner and I’m having a hard time getting the earflap started.

Super cute hat can’t wait to buy the yarn to make it. Also what kind of holder is that? And how much is it? Do you know where I can find one?

These hats run small but they are a very well written pattern and work up quick. If you have children, teen and adults with bigger size heads your going to have to add extra rows. The teen/adult hat size is more for an 8-12 year old. I made some of the hats for several people and when they tried them on they were way too small. I had to remake them bigger.

Help! I am doing the Toddler/Preschooler kitty hat. I am using a J hook, which might be the problem. A chart I have, says for a two year old, should be 19in in circumference. It is way bigger. I there a way to correct it without tearing out all the rows?
