Here’s a sweet gift for your yarn loving friends: Yarn Lollipops! Lion Brand Bon Bon Yarn works great for this project because the small skeins wrap perfectly around a cardboard circle. This allows you to gift a specific amount of yarn. Need ideas on what to make with Bon Bon Yarn? I have lots of projects for you: Owl Ornament, Butterfly Barefoot Sandals, Yarn Valentine, Teething Necklace, and Owl Ring Toy.
Materials:
– Lion Brand Bon Bon Yarn
– Cardboard circles (I cut mine from empty cereal boxes)
– Popsicle sticks (I used jumbo size)
– Ribbon
– Clear cellophane treat bags
– Sharpie pens
Cut a 3.5 inch circle from cardboard. I traced the rim of a mug to get a nice shape.
Cut little slits around the edge of circle to catch yarn.
Wrap a full skein of Bon Bon yarn around cardboard piece.
Tuck the end in but make sure it sticks out a little so your recipient knows where to pull from.
Tuck popsicle stick under yarn.
Write a little “to and from” message on the stick with a sharpie.
Stick cellophane bag over lollipop and tie closed with ribbon. The cardboard circle does bend a little to get it in the bag. It will easily bend back to a flat circle.
Make one for all of your yarn loving friends! I nice take-away favor for a crochet or knit party or for a little girls craft party. Also sweet for Valentine’s day 🙂
