You will need one 10.5 oz. of the sand for the pillow. (I bought 4 on line…only needed 1 !!!) Antlers have very poor directions….finally on 7th try I managed one that looked similar…so I hurried and made 3 others using my directions. Eyes have bad directions also. So far huge bulging round eyes that are too big for Rudolph (not the oval eyes shown) it’s my 5th time trying….if I put a 2″ button on it, the eye will be mostly covered …so something isn’t right in those eye directions either. I think I just thought what should be done with eyes. …In Round 2, she says 2 dc in last…but doesn’t say what last is…the last 5 hdc???. I think I will try “Turn and do 2 dc in the each of 5 hdc”..think that will make them oval.
The nose seems large also. Think I will use hdc instead.
    Have fun!!!
It’s a darling idea…just better directions are needed.

Instead of 2 inch black buttons for the eyes, it should be 2 one inch black buttons.

Antlers: I think for the antlers, ( if I remember what I did!) in Row 3 where after you make the “Point” of the antler, she says to turn and join to top of last stitch with a sc. I think I joined it to the last stitch in the row that you made in row 3 (not the antler). You do the same thing in Row 6..once again sc in the last stitch of the ROW (not the antler!)
After putting 2 antlers together she said to sc them together, which I did. I think if I would do it again, I would just sl st them together. When you “sew” them together you can “make” them look better.
Instead of sewing the antlers to the front of the head like she did, as I went around , I put the antlers and the ears (as I got to where I wanted them) between the back and the face side and sl st them in. ( I slip stitched around the whole head.)
Another suggestion: Don’t sew the eyes and nose on until you stuff the head. The “stuffing” changes the contour of the face and throws off how it looks. My `16″ pillow form was too big to get into the “deer” and I had to remove about 1/2 of the stuffing (might be I crochet tightly?)
The black of the eyes and the nose…….. I did a magic ring. I used I think 8 hdc and they turned out to be about 1″ circles.
    Hoped I helped!
