Follow picture tutorial below for assembly instructions

CrochetCat6

CrochetCat7

Add safety eyes at about 9 rows up from the bottom and then place nose two rows lower and centered between the eyes.

CrochetCat_whiskers

Take long strand of white (or black) yarn and sew on whiskers.

CrochetCat9

Stuff head with polyfil fiber stuffing and sew shut with your tapestry needle using the whip stitch.

CrochetCat10

Sew on ears to both ends of the head.

CrochetCat11

Stuff body with polyfil fiber stuffing. The top of the body matches up perfectly with round 3 of the head.
Line them up and stitch together!

CrochetCat12

Poke the end of the pipe cleaner that is sticking out of the tail into the side/back of the cat body (about 9 rows up from the bottom). Sew onto body!

You’ve just created a PURRfect crochet kitty cat!

For the cat head, round three does NOT say “chain 1” at the end. Do we really not do a chain even though we do chain one for the other rows?

Such a sweet pattern, thank you for making it available to all. 🙂

My friend and I are both making one (or two) and are confused about Round 3 of the head and Round 3 of the body, both do not say to join, chain 1 but the rest of the rounds do. Why is that?

I love this pattern. I have made 10 of them so far for my grand daughter to match her rainbow blanket I had to do a pink one even though not a rainbow color.
My son calls them the “bowling pin” cats and wants me to make a ball that looks like a mouse

OMG! I love these cats! I think this might have to be my first “real” project – other than me practicing stitches and ripping them out. 🙂 Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this!!

In am a beginner at crocheting and I was wondering does it have to be this specific yarn as long as you have the correct hook? I am excited to try this as my first project. I just love cats!

Nice and easy pattern. I used an ugly yarn that worked up perfectly for a Calico cat design for the head and the lower body. I used white for the upper body and the ears. Since I decided to make it into a cat toy I made a few minor alterations.I used a cereal bag as crinkly material for inside the head. I opted to use a boa for the tail. And lastly I decided to crochet the eyes and nose. My cat is still getting used to, but I think once I get some catnip scent on it he will love it. Thanks again for the easy pattern for my very first amigurumi project!

I need help with making your cat. I’ve made one and it doesn’t look right. Trying again. I don’t read pattern’s well. More of a hands on person and watch video’s to crochet. Do you have a video of making one of these? I’ve also never done the magic circle. thanks if you can help.
