Caron Crochet Chill Time Child’s Cardigan from Yarnspirations Stitchflix Season 2 Lookbook

September 27, 2017

I had so much fun crocheting projects from the Yarnspirations Stitchflix Season 1 Lookbook  (See my Unicorn Snuggle Sack and Pumpkin Poof!!) that I didn’t think I would be as excited about Stitchflix Season 2… but boy I was wrong! Yarnspirations Stitchflix Season 2 Lookbook is full of binge-worthy projects! You know, projects that you would work on or wear while watching your latest Netflix obsession!

Check out the entire Stitchflix Season 2 Lookbook HERE

Immediately the Caron Cardigans caught my eye and I dove right into making the Caron Crochet Chill Time Child’s Cardigan for Zoe!

This girl is 4 going on 14! She has her own sense of style -that’s for sure! Jean shorts a crochet cardigan? OK! At least she loves my handmade creations!

The pattern calls for Caron Simply Soft in Tweeds but I opted for Caron Simply Soft in Country Peach! I also decided to crochet the cardigan using HDC stitches instead of the front-post/back-post stitches it calls for. I followed the size 4 pattern exactly as written but after I got past the ribbing, I went straight into rows of HDCs.

Don’t let the pattern intimidate you. You will crochet basic shapes and then stitch them all together! Keep in mind that crochet is very forgiving and that when it comes time to stitch the pieces together, you really can’t go wrong! If your seams are a little wonky, it won’t matter. You really can’t see the flaws once you are wearing it and I just love how the Caron Simply Soft Yarn drapes so perfectly.

Cozy pockets are a must!

Zoe doesn’t get to have all the fun… There might just be a Caron Cardigan in the works for me as well!! Stay Tuned for a follow up post!

Will you make the Caron Cardigan? If so, let me know! Be sure to tag @RepeatCrafterMe and @Yarnspirations and use the hashtags #RepeatCrafterMe #Yarnspirations #StitchflixSeason2 #CaronChillTimeCardigan in your social media posts!!

There is an adult version of this pattern. Just click the link for the children’s pattern and you will see a link for the adult size cardigan. Or go directly to the Yarnspirations website. It’s there. Can’t wait to try it.

I love what you did in the softee rather than the tweed. Makes it look and I am sure feel more cuddly for the wearer. Can’t wait to do this for my great granddaughters.

I will be making 2 of these for my granddaughters for Christmas. I have read the pattern over and over and am having a problem visualizing how the pockets are worked. Is there a video for this pattern?
    Thanks,

This is adorable and I am currently working on it but stuck on the pocket attachment. I am not understanding how to place and stitch the pocket. Can you help clarify it? It says Pat across but in the abbreviation section it says pat means pattern. Slip 17 of the left front? then pat across? The placement of the pocket section is very confusing!

I’ve never done a pattern with pockets before and don’t mind admitting I’m completely confused by the instructuons. Help. Help. Help.

Hi. I wanted to ask when you start the HDC instead of the post stitches.. I notice the back after the chaining you DC across then ch 2 then dcbp…. is this where u start the HDC s? thanks .

Hi, I am having trouble understanding on the back piece I am on row 2, towards the end it says
” to last 3 dc. 1 dcbp around next dc. 1 dcfp around next dc. 1 hdc in last dc. ” when I am going front and back posting it makes a double rib design (from the dcfp) so I am trying to understand what the last 3 dc are.. there is also a chain 2 area at the very end, am I counting that as the last “DC”? if so do I do the HDC in the chain or space? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Kim
