Kollage Square Crochet Hooks

February 15, 2018

New crochet hooks have hit the market! I’m really loving these Kollage Square Crochet Hooks that come in both pointed and rounded tips. What’s the difference you ask? Pointed Tips are great for tight stitches (either because you crochet tightly, or are doing a hard-to-get-into stitch pattern). Having a pointed hook allows you to slip into tight stitches more easily, reducing wrist and hand pain. Whereas the Rounded Tip is fabulous for splitty yarns, as the rounded tip easily slides between the loops of the stitch, and not the plies of your yarn!

I am using Patons Alpaca yarn in Ultraviolet (It’s the Pantone color of the year!) and using the Even Moss Stitch which is basically just alternating between SC and HDC stitches. I thought I was going to like the pointed hook better, but was pleasantly surprised that I preferred the rounded tip hook! It glided through the stitches effortlessly and I love the way the inline of the hook is nice and deep and catches the yarn so well. I do crochet pretty loosely so I should have known the rounded tip would be better for me.

Both hooks are lightweight aluminum and feature a square-shaped ergonomic handle. A relief to tired wrists and hands! Each hook features a comfortable thumb rest and a deep groove for easily catching the yarn while crocheting.

The best news is that each hook is only $13.50! I think this is a great deal for a well-made ergonomic hook. I spend a lot more on custom clay hooks and specialty wooden hooks. I am having a little giveaway at the bottom of this post if you would like to try to win both these hooks for yourself!

I usually look for hooks with a point but never really knew why some had one or was rounded. Interesting. Fingers crossed for a win!

I hope it is worldwide (Netherlands) would love to try this hooks out.
They are beautiful, but then: get it nice trough the yarn and is the needle deep in the wood, i think they can break verry fast or are they realy tight. The hooks which i use right now break fast.

    Lovely greets, Arja

Thanks for the chance to win one of these hooks. Ordering on line from South Africa is the only option, but our exchange rate is terrible. hugs.

I’m so glad you did a review on these hooks. I’ve seen them before but didn’t know the name of them. I love Clover Amour hooks, but I’m always up for trying a new hook.

I started searching for a DIY craft blog to follow last summer. Cause I had some time after college and applied for Oklahoma Christian University scholarship, so I didn’t need to write anything at that time, nor did I have to use any service for studying. So I chose to try a DIY crafting (knitting and crocheting, embroidery later).
