If you are looking for the perfect crochet gift for kids and babies, this is the one! The Crochet Square Bear is a new pattern from Yarnspirations from their Mindful Making Lookbook. You guys, I got this done in just one morning! That is because it’s made of simple shapes and stitches that are pieced together at the end. The soft and plush Bernat Blanket Tiny yarn makes this bear so soft and furry! If you’ve never worked with this yarn, you are in for a treat! It’s just like it’s big brother, Bernat Blanket Yarn but much thinner to give you tighter stitches for smaller projects like this one!
I put a little extra embellishment to my bear by stitching on a flower to the tummy! You can make the same flower (pattern below) or add a heart, star, or sun to yours?! Lots of ways to customize this little bear and lots of colors to choose from as well!
Starting with white
Magic ring, chain 1 and make 8 SC in ring, join,
Round 2: attach yellow yarn and chain 6, DC in 3rd chain from hook, HDC in next, SC in last two, slip stitch to join to same stitch, *slip stitch into next space, chain 6, DC in 3rd chain from hook, HDC in next, SC in last two, slip stitch to join to same stitch, repeat around from *, fasten off leaving long tail. Stitch onto tummy of bear.
