Crochet Griddle Stitch Winter Headband

December 29, 2018

Chilly temps call for quick and cozy crochet projects! Hook up these griddle stitch headbands in no time at all! The griddle stitch is just a fancy name for making a SC and then a DC stitch repeating. It gives such a beautiful texture to this project without needing any advanced crochet skills.

Materials:
– Bernat Super Value Yarn (less than one skein) I used colors Aqua, Soft Grey, and Rouge.
Shop all colors HERE on Yarnspirations.com

Perfect timing! My daughter just asked for one of these for herself and her daughter (my grand). Easy, peasy and they look gorgeous. Pinned this.

On the ch 1 turn, does the ch 1 count as a stitch?
Or another way clear this up for me. On each new row is the sc always in the dc, and dc in the sc?

    Thanks

    Karen

Yes, the sc is always in the dc, and the dc in the sc.

For the child size would I still chain 17 for the centre strap or is a shorter chain necessary?

IT WOULD STILL BE 17 BECAUSE YOU WORKING ON THE WIDTH, NOT THE LENGTH. IF THAT HELPS.

Oh my goodness I LOVE how easily these make up. I did two 0-3 month, a 3-6 month, and a toddler in a couple hours. Can’t wait for my models to test out the different sizes for me!!
