Crochet Hamburger HotPad

June 4, 2019

I’ve been craving hamburgers and cheeseburgers! Probably because I’m back on Weight Watchers (see my weight loss journey HERE). I’m trying to shed a few pounds for the summer season. Fortunately these cuties are zero caloreis! These crochet hamburgers can be used as hotpads (probably not the one with the safety eyes), or a toddler bib, applique, panel for a backpack, little pillow, part of a hat, or stitch two together to make a little cuddle buddy! The possibilities are endless!

Finished size is approximately 8 inches x 8 inches

Materials:
Bernat Super Value Yarn in Mushroom Brown, Lush Green, Taupe Dark Brown, Bright Yellow, Berry, and a little bit of Black for the embellishments.
Shop all colors HERE on Yarnspirations.com
– Size H Crochet Hook
– 9mm Black Safety Eyes (optional)
– Tapestry Needle

Don’t forget to add facial features!

Do you think I should make a series?! I think the hamburger needs two buddies: pizza and french fries!

Actually my family has been making potholders out of acrylic since the Wintuk days and have never had an issue. Most kitchens have (at one time or another) store bought potholders/hotpads that have been burned or singed due to user error. BUT I wouldnt put say a cast iron skillet straight off the fire on acrylic OR cotton. Also I would make two and sew them together to double the layers!

I would use cotton yarn if you are going to use them, but if they are decorative you can use the acrylic.

The pattern starts with brown which I think you should specify which brown… Or maybe even call it tan! Started it with the dk brown which of course was wrong. Whoops!
