Has this happened to you before? You wash your crochet blanket after it has been well loved only to see some of your stitches pulling apart or tearing?!

A friend of mine was in a panic this morning because her daughters favorite crochet blanket (her comfort blanky) was ripping apart. I told her to drop off the blanket at my house and I would see what I could do.
Fortunately the double crochet stitches along the tear line were still in pretty good shape. I was able to repair the blanket by stitching the double crochets back together with a tapestry needle and a long strand of yarn that was as close to a color match as possible.

I hope this video tutorial helps in your repair situations as well!
It’s not perfect, but the blanket is saved!

Hi!
You did a great job! I myself love to repair what is broken. I wrote many tutorials in the last years and have a link-party “fix it!”. I added your blog to the link party to let other people know. Thank you for sharing!
