Crochet COVID Masks

May 12, 2020

If you are looking for a Crochet COVID Mask pattern you have come to the right place! Yarnspirations.com has a great little crochet mask pattern that consists of simple repeating rows. This means that you can make the masks as short or tall as you’d like! I am personally using this pattern to make masks for Zoe’s dolls and stuffed animals. I know a lot of you are looking for masks to add to crochet or stuffed bears as gifts for nurses, doctors, and other essential workers. This pattern is perfect!

Using a size F hook (the patterns calls for an H), I made masks for a few of my Crochet Cute Critters! Don’t they look adorable?!

The straps tie behind the ears so it fits a variety of sized stuffies and faces!

NOTE: This mask pattern does include directions for a Fabric lining and you could use it for yourself but you should definitely follow the latest mask recommendations put out by the CDC. Our family personally uses cloth masks when we need to leave our home for essentials.

Crochet masks are not safe. They are filled with tiny holes that allow virus to penetrate the persons respiratory system. Promoting these is very unwise!

Actually, actual crochet masks are fine so long as you put a filter or liner on the inside so that it is not filled with the holes.

I think they are so adorable. Glad you told your readers to follow the mask recommendations by the CDC. Obviously some don’t read the entire posting. I think my stuffies and a doll will love them.

I made one of these and have used it. The pattern actually calls for a double layer of fabric for the lining, so it should fit the CDC guidelines as long as you actually use it with the lining and use an appropriate material for the lining. That said, two layers of material and a layer of acrylic yarn make for a super warm face covering, and can feel like trying to breathe through a blanket. I also had issues with fogging up my glasses the first couple of times wearing it and had to adjust for that while wearing it. Pattern is super easy and was very quick to make.
