I have a question about the pattern. Feet round 3,4,5 have a count of 24 stitches. Round 6 is to decrease by 10 and then have 10 left… but that doesn’t work. 24-10 is 14 stitches left. Please advise. Thank you.

Round six says to Sc2tog five times so in total only five stitches would be taken away from 24 and 24-5=19 just like the pattern says. Hope this helps!

OMG, that Squish-A-Saurus is adorable! I’m totally making one. Reminds me of how much fun it is to use bright, textured yarn – almost like painting with Wiggly Paint on fabric, right?

Hi! I have a question on the tail. What are rounds 17, 19 and 21 supposed to be? Do you just continue doing single crochets to the same stitch count as the previous row? Thank you! 🙂

On round three of the tail is says “3rd and alt ends”. So yes, odd number rows are just sc around. I printed the pattern and write the numbers to cross off so I wouldn’t forget to do those.

    Hi Sarah
I’m making the body of the dinosaur. Round 4 leaves us with 30 stitches. However your instructions on round 5 does not work it up to 40 stitches. I get 32??? Is this a misprint or am I missing something?

I think the “twice” is wrong both there and 6th and 8th round. Just do the (2sc in next st, 1sc in each of next 2 stitches) the whole way around and counts come out correctly.

Round 25 of the head must also be written incorrectly. As written it wouldn’t decrease. I think it’s supposed to be sc2tog then 1sc in next st? There is no * or anything for a repeat but if you do the regular decrease type row, it gets you down to 20 stitches.

It is suppose to get you down to 20 stitches, I think they accidentally left out the *.

I made this pattern two years ago and it was a big hit with my great grandson and others who wanted me to crochet it for them. I never found any errors. This was my first attempt at making such a large animal. I found that stuffing it was easier to do as one crocheted along and as polyester tends to absorb air it is better to not stuff the object too much as it will get lumpy. Good luck !

    Hi,
One question in the body I didn’t understand when you say twice in round 5 as shown below but in round 3 it’s repeat like what is the difference because when I do it as round 3 which is repeat I get the same amount of stitches as needed:
3rd rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next st. 1 sc in next st. Rep from * around. Join. 30 sc.
5th rnd: Ch 1. (2 sc in next st. 1 sc in each of next 2 sts) twice. Join. 40 sts.

    P.s love the pattern
    Thank you

I got your book and had been making a lot of the animals there. After making 4 animals, I realize that I may be doing it wrong in regards to joining and then chain 1. I think I didn’t chain 1 so my seams look very obvious. Now doing chain 1 on a new animal, it’s a bit hard to tell if which stitch to join and which is the last stitch. Any tips on being able to tell? Also if you use a round marker, do you mark the chain 1 or the last stitch before joining? Thanks! Started a new hobby because of you!

I have the book too and I just ignore the chain 1- it doesn’t look good. I just make sure to leave a stitch marker. I found the chain 1 to be very confusing and I didn’t like the look of them traveling throughout the piece. Hope this helps!

I just started this pattern downloaded from Yarnspirations. The directions for the foot stops at the 8th round making it barely look like a shoe. Shouldn’t there be more rounds to give it a little leg? The arms say “rows 10 through 17” and it seems the legs should have some rounds too. Am I missing something?
    Thanks

I have just finished making the kegs and they look fine to me, according to the images and video. Maybe when it says “9th to 12th rounds” and then to do one single/double crochet in each stitch you did not realise and only did it for the 9th round? I have done this before it is a simple mistake. Hope this helps!

Thankfully, a video tutorial (like in this article) made it easier, just like how papa’s games tend to break tricky things into simpler steps. This guide will surely help many crafters create adorable dinosaur buddies.

The article about Tatsuya Ichihashi’s time on the run was truly gripping. I was astonished to learn that he had altered his appearance through cosmetic surgery and moved across such a wide area, from Aomori all the way to Okinawa. In particular, the episode about him walking the Shikoku pilgrimage offered a glimpse into his state of mind and left a strong impression on me.
