I crocheted something sweet because today I’m celebrating a BIG birthday. Today I turn 40 years old! It feels so weird to say that. 40. Years. Old. WOW! So I have 4 stacked scoops of ice cream in celebration of 40 years! A big thanks to all of you for making my 30’s so wonderful with your continued support, friendships, inspiration, and for being an amazing crochet community. Cheers to a new decade!
Materials:
Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Minty and Orchid
Red Heart With Love Yarn in Bubble Gum and Daffodil
Red Heart With Love Yarn in Tan for the cone

– Polyfil Fiber Stuffing
– Tapestry Needle
Finished Size: 15 inches tall x 4 inches wide
Cone:
with brown yarn
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 6 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (6 SC)
Round 3: 2 SC in first, SC in next, repeat around, join, chain 1 (9 SC)
Round 4: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 5: 2 SC in first, SC in next 2, repeat around, join, chain 1 (12 SC)
Round 6: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 7: 2 SC in first, SC in next 3, repeat around, join, chain 1 (15 SC)
Round 8: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 9: 2 SC in first, SC in next 4, repeat around, join, chain 1 (18 SC)
Round 10: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 11: 2 SC in first, SC in next 5, repeat around, join, chain 1 (21 SC)
Round 12: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 13: 2 SC in first, SC in next 6, repeat around, join, chain 1 (24 SC)

Ice Cream Scoop:
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 10 SC in ring, join, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 (20 SC)
Round 3: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 4: 2 SC in first, SC in next, repeat around, join, chain 1 (30 SC)
Round 5: 2 SC in first, SC in next 2, repeat around, join, chain 1 (40 SC)
Round 6-12: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 13: SC Decrease, SC in next 2, repeat around, join, chain 1 (30 SC)
Round 14: SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1
Round 15: 4 SC in each stitch around, join, fasten off
Stuff cone with polyfil
Lightly stuff ice cream scoop with polyfil. Stitch edge of ice cream scoop (under the ruffles) to the top edge of cone. Stuff with more polyfil before completely closing.
Repeat with other scoops. Use a stitch marker or pin to set the scoops in place if needed while you stitch them on top of each other. It’s best to lightly stuff at first and then really fill the scoops with polyfil right before completely closing.

i had the same trouble then i found out i was going into my slip stitches. So i took a breath, started over and when i slip stitched i did into the chain ones’s. Also recount like 2 times cause you can never be sure. And by recount i mean the single crochets that you have.

Confusing pattern. On cone it says in row 3 and alternating rows to 2sc in first, sc in next, repeat around, join, chain 1. When I repeat 2sc and Sc I keep coming up with too many stitches. What are we supposed to repeat, Are commas misplaced. What am I doing wrong. I’ve been crocheting for years but this pattern is confusing. Can anyone help me
I was so looking forward to doing this pattern. Luckily I have some experience crocheting because the pattern is very difficult to follow. There are parts missing, ie ruffle in scoops and so many chain 1s that stitch count is wrong. Don’t do unless you have enough experience to correct mistakes
