Crochet Golf Graphghan

July 25, 2020

I’m calling this a Golf Graphghan but we all know that it also looks a lot like an avocado LOL! So I guess it’s a multi-purpose design! My husband and son have been doing a lot of golfing lately… seems like the only thing open these days is the golf course and it’s a sport where you can completely social distance as well. I set out to make this graphghan for my son and I may eventually add some things to it like a sand trap and golf ball… but for now I am leaving it as is. And he seems to like it!

I used Red Heart Super Saver in colors Tea Leaf (for the putting green), Paddy Green (for the fairway), and then I looped in Red Heart Fur in color Pine (for the rough). You can get all this yarn HERE on Yarnspirations.com.

Materials:
-Red Heart Super Saver in Tea Leaf (1) and Paddy Green (2)
-Red Heart Fur in Pine (2)

-Size H Crochet Hook
-Golf Green Pixel Graph. Get it HERE.
Materials for the hole and flag:
-Red, White, and Black yarn (just a bit)
-Size H Crochet Hook

Each pixel square in the graph is equal to 2 DC

Blanket:
with dark green yarn
You will start by chaining 92 and then making a DC in the 3rd chain from hook and the rest of the way down the chain.
Follow the pixel graph and remember to make 2 DC for each square on the graph. Change color when directed in graph.

Flag:
With red yarn
Chain 17, SC in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down, chain 1, turn
Row 2: SC Decrease, SC in next 12, SC Decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 3: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn
Row 4: SC Decrease, SC in next 10, SC Decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 5: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn
Row 6: SC Decrease, SC in next 8, SC Decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 7: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn
Row 8: SC Decrease, SC in next 6, SC Decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 9: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn
Row 10: SC Decrease, SC in next 4, SC Decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 11: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn
Row 12: SC Decrease, SC in next 2, SC Decrease over last two, chain 1, turn
Row 13: SC in each stitch across, chain 1, turn
Row 14: SC Decrease twice, chain 1, turn
Row 15: SC Decrease, chain 1 and continue to SC around edges of entire flag.
Fasten off leaving long tail to stitch onto blanket

Flag Pole:
with white yarn
Chain 31, SC in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down chain, fasten off leaving long tail to stitch onto blanket.

Hole:
with black yarn
Magic ring, chain 2 and make 12 DC in ring, join, chain 2
Round 2: 2 DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (24 DC)
(stop here or continue for one more round)
Round 3: 2 DC in first stitch, DC in next, repeat around, join (36 DC)
fasten off leaving long tail to stitch onto blanket.

With the fur yarn, loop it in and out between the DC stitches around edges and corners to create the rough. It’s very hard to crochet with this yarn because it has so much texture. It is easiest if you use your fingers to weave it between the DC stitches.

I’m very pleased with my essay, glad was ready for today! Checking out prices and terms and placing an order took less than 10 minutes and then I received a confirmation call from the call centre worker almost at once. The paper quality is top-notch.
