Crochet Christmas Buddy Bookmarks

October 15, 2020

The Christmas Characters CAL has inspired another project… Christmas Buddy Bookmarks! This is a super cute and quick holiday project that you can gift as a set and make for the little (and big) readers in your life!

If you aren’t familiar with Christmas Characters CAL, it’s an adorable Christmas Blanket with 4 panels featuring your favorite christmas faces. Feel free to join anytime over at Yarnspirations.com! These bookmarks are the perfect way to use up any leftover yarn from your CAL (crochet-along) Blanket!

Rudolph Nose:
with light brown yarn
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 4 SC + 3 HDC + 4 SC + 3 HDC all in ring, pull tight. Fasten off leaving long tail to stitch onto bookmark about red collar.

Now is the fun part! Add your embellishments! Grab buttons, tiny pom-poms, embroidery thread, felt or felt stitchers, and anything else you want to pretty up your bookmarks with!

Feel free to add more or less. Keep them simple or go crazy! This would be a fun project to get the kids involved with.

I used Fabri-tac glue to attach my buttons and things… you could use hot glue.. or you could hand stitch each piece on! Whatever you feel comfortable with.

I used a long strand of worsted weight yarn and my tapestry needle to make the belt buckles for Santa and the Elf. Weave your yarn into a square and go over it 2-3 times to make thicker belt. You could also cut a piece of felt and glue it on.

When you are done adding your embellishments, add some tassels to either the top or bottom (or both!)

Cut long strands of yarn and loop through bottom (or top) edge. Then make a big knot and trim.

Cute and quick to make!

No, ella no trabaja nada en español. Pero puedes buscar un traductor que te ayude. Asi vas escribiendo el patrón en español tu misma. Recuerda q debes ajustar algunas palabras al vocabulario q usamos las tejedoras.
