Use two different shades of brown (I used Bernat Super Value in Walnut and Clay) and be sure to leave off the horn. Instead of curly-q’s I knotted strands of yarn for the horse mane. A quick video below shows the technique.
I chose the copper brown and gray for the hair/hooves because the mascot of my kids new school is the Trailblazer and these are the colors in the cartoon logo!
